⚽️COACH WANTED⚽️

Our lovely U8 Cubs are in need of a new coach. They’re an amazing group who’ve been together for a good few months now and are competing in their very first ever season.

A coach with experience would be desired, however we’re also appreciative of anyone who’d be looking at trying coaching for the first time.

A valid FA DBS would be required, as well as basic level 1 coaching certificate. Both of these could be supplied by the club if needed.

If you want any further information or wish to express your interest please feel free to message this page or send an email to female development officer - [email protected]

Thank you 💛💚💙

Our u10s kickstarted their very first season today with an impressive performance away to Linthorpe Academicals Clarets. Read their match report below 👇🏻

Well done, St Francis Girls Under 10 Cubs. We’re so proud of you!👏🏼

💛💚 MATCH DAY RESULTS 💚💛

Our cubs headed down the road to Middlesbrough to face their first game of the season, Linthorpe Academicals Clarets⚽️👏🏽

The cubs knew they had some work to do and that’s exactly what they did. From the first whistle, the cubs worked together to move the ball up the pitch. They had a few shots on goal but Clarets keeper made some cracking saves! Another chance came and Poppie found the back of the net.

The cubs settled into the game well and our keeper Sadie didn’t have much to do in the first half. Our two defenders, Alice and Orsi kept the ball away from Sadie and cleared the ball up the pitch when needed.

Working together, Poppie and Ellie had a lovely link up and Poppie found the back of the net!

Half time whistle and the cubs continued to bring energy and understood exactly what to do moving into the second half.

The cubs were awarded a free kick and Teagan stepped up to take it. A beautiful attempt with an unlucky ending due to their keeper making another wonderful save! Play resumed and Poppie managed to find the back of the net twice before taking a well deserved rest!

The Clarets grafted in the second half putting our defence to work but Alice and Teagan kept them at bay and Sadie made some cracking saves! Another clearance, and this time the girls moved the ball up the pitch and Ellie managed to find the back of their net.

The girls ended their first game of the season on a high and we are looking forward to a week off before the next one!

We want to thank the Linthorpe Academicals Clarets for being great opponents and we wish them all the luck for the rest of the season🤝🏽

CUBS START WITH A MIGHTY ROAR🐻

Wow what a first game for the u8 cubs. From the first whistle it was just constant end to end football against a linthorpe team who were more experienced than our girls having played competitively last season. There’s still plenty to work on in terms of positioning and movement off the ball but the girls have made all their parents proud today. Right up until the last minute it was tit for tat, Linthorpe scoring then the impressive Nyla scoring for the cubs. We do need to be a bit more alert and put forcing a bit more but this will come in time.

Today was to hard to pick girl of the game with Nyla scoring a bag full and Rosie making some incredible saves, no more so than the last kick of the game. Big well done to all the girls. Onwards and upwards 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.

25/26 season ⏳…

We’d like to wish the best of luck to all of the St Francis teams both girls & boys who start their season this weekend. But we’d like to give a special mention to our U8 & U10 cubs who both kickstart their very first season as a team tomorrow.

The U8s led by Peter Rooney will be playing at home in a 10:30 kick off. The girls have came on leaps and bounds over the last couple of months, and can’t wait to get their first ever season underway. Good luck, Cubs. Play with a smile on your faces and have the best time.

The U10s kickstart their season with an away game against Linthorpe Academicals (Clarets) at Outwood Academy in a 10am kick off. Manager Julie Richards has been onboard with the girls since the very beginning, and now has two coaches in place in shape of ladies players Amy Richards & Hol Nelson. The girls are more than equipped to smash their first season. Big things will come from this team in the future. Good luck, Cubs. You’ll smash it!

Finally, our ladies team get their third campaign underway on Sunday afternoon with a trip up to Birtley to play Birtley Town Ladies Reserves. After coming close to silverware in their first two seasons, the team are more determined than ever to make this the season they finally get their hands on the prize. The ladies have been a massive part in the growth of the girls section at St Francis, with members of their team being coaches, managers, female development officers and just overall massive supporters of the girls section in general. We couldn’t wish for better role models for the younger teams to look up to. All the best for your season, ladies.
