First league game tomorrow for the year 8s, come down and watch the lads.

Hartlepool district 2-1 east Northumberland/ Berwick A

After defeat to east nothumberland/ Berwick B team last time out the lads had a point to show against the A team.

The lads started the game really brightly with Lachlan nearly scoring the goal of the season from long range. The lads continued with the dominance with some nice play in midfield through Lachlan, Joel and George and this paid off with a long ball from Jude in goal who was bravely met by Reuben and poked home by Layton to make it 1-0. East Northumberland: Berwick grew into the game but some great defending from Jake and Isaac and sweeping from Jude in goal cancelled out there threat.

The 2nd half started on the same way as the 1st with Guy and Layton causing problems and creating chances which caused there 2nd goal with a ball over the top to Reuben who got there before the goalkeeper and finished into an open goal. East/ Borthumberland Berwick managed to get a goal back from a free kick which made the end of the game nervy but with some great defending managed to see the game out.

A great game to watch and the lads were excellent playing some great football.

MOTM- Everyone but Lachlan was stand out on the middle of the park.

Tough one to take last night for the u12 team against Eat/ North Berwick B u12s
The lads started off really well playing some nice football and creating chances but unable to take them and were hit with on the counter from a long ball through and east/ Berwick clinically finished. East/ Berwick then scored soon after.
The lads didn’t let there head drops continuing to play some really good 1 and 2 touch passing with Lachlan at the heart of it pulling the strings.
2nd half started in the same way with Hartlepool applying pressure but unable to take there chances and a mistake lead to East/ Berwick getting a third.
Then a bit of Magic from Lachlan picking the ball up in his own half taking on 4 players and firing the ball in to the top corner. The lads got a lift from this a created a few more chances with Reuben forcing a good save from the keeper. East/ Berwick still look a threat from the long ball and scored from a corner when a ball was cleared and hit off the back of an East/ Berwick player and rebounded into the net.
Hartlepool put up a fight and managed to get another goal back but a counter attack goal finished the game off for East/ Berwick and the game finished 5-2.
Sole very promising play from the Hartlepool lads and deserved something from the game.

hester-le-Street U12’s 2-3 Hartlepool U12’s.

Hartlepool made the journey to Washington Hub on Friday night to take on Chester-le-Street. Despite a strong start and many shots on goal Hartlepool went 1-0 down following a CLS counter attack, despite numerous heroic blocks on the line the ball was eventually smashed in. Hartlepool didn’t stop and found an equaliser before the half time break through Jacob Hornsey.

Hartlepool started strong in the second half. Reuben Grayson powered through the CSL defence to fire the boys 2-1 up following a brilliant pass from George Ritches. CSL didn’t stop however, they got an equaliser of their own with 10 minutes to go. A powerful shot just beating Dan Caden who was outstanding for Hartlepool. 2-2.

The lads continued to fight on and got their reward 5 minutes from the end! Joel Hill was fouled in the box and stepped up to convert the penalty! The lads held on to their lead with some excellent defending from Lachlan and Ollie! FT 3-2!

Another excellent comeback from the boys and a brilliant win away from home!

Hartlepool u12 2-3 Stockton u12

A challenging game for the u12 on Saturday morning against a very hard working and talented Stockton team.

The first half finished 0-0 with few chances for both sides. Although we were disappointed not to get what we thought was a certain penalty.
The second half quite the opposite as the game opened up. Stockton managed to get in top with a well worked ball down the right hand side was crossed in and tapped home at the back post. Stockton struck again after a penalty save from Dan was scored on the rebound to make it 2-0. The lads didn’t let there head drop and got one back from the penalty spot as Joel slotted home. Hartlepool continued the pressure and got their just rewards with Layton Maddison being played through and finished first time. As the lads pushed on, they left themself open at the back and an identical goal to there first made the game 3-2.

Great results for the year 7 this morning against North Tyneside year 7s

The lad started brightly and should have been 1-0 in the first 30 seconds with Jacob working his way down the right and putting a ball across the Reuben with the keeper pulling a good save off.
North Tyneside looked bright in the first 15 minutes and went 1-0. The lads managed the pressure and pulled one back with Jacob causing problems down the right hand side and slotting it home from a tight angle to make it 1-1. Again some pressure from north Tyneside to make it 2-1 from a corner. The lads battled hard and fought throughout and got there just rewards just before half time from a corner taken but Layton and Reuben was there to convert with his head.

The Hartlepool lads started the the second half brightly with Layton hitting and bouncing ball on volley which flew into the top corner to make it 3-2. Layton was causing all sorts of problems on the left and this showed with him getting another 2 goals to put the lads 5-2 up. North Tyneside added a goal in dying minutes to make it 5-3 but the lads seen the game out.
