Harlaxton CC vs Boston CC
On a firm Harlaxton wicket that looked ideal for batting, Harlaxton CC won the toss and elected to bat first.
Openers Surya (20) and Vijendra Mishra (116) gave Harlaxton a strong start, putting on 28 before Surya fell to a well-delivered ball. Captain Sam Bicknell (24) then came to the crease, providing stability and rotating the strike well alongside Mishra.
Harlaxton continued to build throughout the innings, with valuable contributions from the middle order helping the home side post an impressive 252-8 from their 40 overs.
After the interval, Boston CC began their chase confidently. Ben Troops anchored the innings superbly, batting through to the end as Boston reached 254-2, securing victory by 8 wickets.
Harlaxton’s wickets came courtesy of Jason Grosse and Alan Jackson. There were also disciplined spells from Sam Bicknell, Ruben, David Hughes, Dharmendra Sahu, and Vijendra Mishra, who all worked hard despite Boston’s successful chase.
With over 500 runs scored across the day, it proved to be an outstanding batting wicket at Harlaxton. It’s not often a side posts more than 250 and still ends up on the losing side.
A special mention goes to Vijendra Mishra, who recorded his second century of the season. A superb innings of 116, full of composure and quality stroke play, and a thoroughly deserved milestone. Congratulations on another fantastic hundred, mate.
