I made sure not to give any speeches, have any long goodbyes or open any cards in front of anyone (Learnt my lesson from last time 😂) as I knew it would make me cry.
Though we had to change the day which meant some people were unable to attend I am hugely grateful for everyone who could be here this evening and for all the lovely messages received.
14 years, is a very long time, I was 17 years old a level 1 coach and I just wanted to run a small session for the girls in the borough so they could learn and play netball in a enjoyable environment, fast forward less than a year and I become a level 2 coach and thought why not make it in to a club, with the support from Helen Elthorne Eclipse was formed officially. Amanda and I decided to join Twyford and Elthorne together a few years later and ETNC was a go, at one stage there was over 100 affiliated girls to the clubs. Over the years there have been many volunteers and coaches and I just wish to say thank you for anyone who gave their time to the club it would’ve not been possible without you. During the covid pandemic was a challenging time for all, I was unsure if we were going to be able to continue, however we got back on our feet and continued where we left off.
It’s now 2024, My life is ready for the new chapter, to be able to fully embrace the changes to come, I have to say good bye. Though there have been some tough periods I wouldn’t change a thing, as I have so many wonderful memories and that down to every who made Elthorne & Twyford NC more than a netball club but a place to grow our netball family.
Our mission was always to inspire young people, help everyone develop and along the way make some achievements and it fair to say we did all of this.
Here is to end of an era! Signing off ✍️ 2010-2024 💙🥹🥰🙏 Ayesha
