📝 Hamilton Thistle are on the lookout for new players in all positions for the 25/26 season as we near the end of the current season, which has seen a good turn of form since the turn of the year.

⚽️🤝 MATCH RESULT 🤝⚽️

Hamilton Thistle AFC 8 - 1 Carstairs Thistle afc

The first meeting between the two sides this season and it proved in the end to be one much in favour of Thistle.

The lads started brightly and quickly found themselves 2-0 with goals from Jay and had Carstairs keeper on his toes. We eased off and a sliced clearance from our GK who had r unfortunately landed at the feet of Carstairs who nicely tucked it away with no GK in the net.

Sparked a bit of urgency back into Thistle and we quickly went on to add another through Jay and one through John "A just want Pakora" Hamilton with a cheeky chip down the middle from a penalty.

HT 4-1.

Thistle pushed on and found another 4 goals, courtesy of Beattie and Jay adding another 3 to his name to take his tally to 6. Carstairs keeper made a few good stops but it was all one way traffic and the game ended with us comfortable winners.

FT 8-1.

All the best to Carstairs until next game and the rest of the season.

This Sunday sees us take on Carstairs Thistle afc for the first time this season.

The lads know they will have to be switched on from the start and hopefully take all 3pts after a late defeat to Broomfield AFC last week ending 4-2.

Broomy are itching to bounce back after last weeks disappointing result by welcoming along Hamilton Thistle AFC to Keir Hardie this weekend. Looking to right some wrongs and begin a new surge of momentum to take forward.

Sunday 9th February, 3pm KO, Keir Hardie.

‼️ PLAYERS WANTED ‼️

The management team is keen to add a few additions to the club to close out the 2nd half of the season and beyond. Prior experience at a good level is preferred.

✅️ Must be able commit to training on Wednesdays and matchdays on Sunday (times vary between 11-3pm kickoffs)

⚽️ Training is at Wishaw Sports Centre on Wednesdays between 8-10pm.

‼️ GAME OFF ‼️

Unfortunately our game was called premature yesterday and our fixture against Carstairs Thistle afc today is now postponed.

Had we maybe secured the legendary Demon Ref; who knows what pull he would have had to keep this fixture alive today.

Better never stops, but frostbite stops all.

Next up for the team is a home game against Carstairs Thistle afc as we get back into league action after the Festive break.

After a good run of results and a win last weekend in our friendly, we look to bring this into domestic action and the lads will be keen to put in another good performance.

⚽️🤝 MATCH RESULT 🤝⚽️

Hamilton Thistle AFC 6 - 3 Kirkintilloch Athletic

First one of the year and the lads came back after stuffing their faces with Christmas turkey to face a decent Kirkintilloch side.

Bit of a disastrous start having to draft in a trialist keeper at the last second to help us due to no shows, however he had a solid game with a few great saves.

We started really well opening the scoring inside 12 mins when young Jey slipped in Big Bad John to slot past the keeper for 1-0.

Kirky did get one back when a shot went through the crowd of defenders to catch our keeper on his heels.

The equaliser was only temporary as Beattie got in behind the LB, cutting back for a superb finish by Jey. 2-1 Thistle, advantage restored.

On 26 mins, Beattie got a booking for a long jump tackle which did win the ball but ref booked him as was a tad reckless.

Just before half time, Big Bad John was butchered to the ground in a tackle which would’ve come with a jail sentence if on the street. The ref deemed it a yellow.

2-1 HT.

Second half Kirky did start the better team and were probabaly in more control of the ball throughout.

This didn’t stop us catching them on the break when some good running from John H resulted in Kai Conway getting in behind and slotted past their 2nd half keeper for a 3-1 lead.

Kirky then claimed they should’ve had a pen for a push but referee waved on.

John then decided to step upto the mark and put the game to bed scoring twice after some good running in behind.

After a few changes Kirky took advantage and grabbed 2 back making it 5-3, before John grabbed a second half hat trick and his 4th of the game to finish the game once and for all.
