We are back on the road once again for our 2nd round league cup tie🏆

FC United 1-2 Haltwhsitle Jubilee Development

We reversed our 1st round Home league cup fixture to get the game played, which saw us leave with a 1-2 win. And into the next round of the cup.

A game which wasn’t pretty and for the majority play some pretty poor football. But eventually getting the job done.

1st goal came from an Alfie Dodd throw in which their defender did the work by flicking it on to the back post for Curtis Cowan to tap in for his first ever Senior goal, who I’m sure would have been shaking given his chance missed from pretty much the goal line a week prior for his Sunday team.

Our second goal was a penalty after Aaron was pulled back in the box. And Billy Walton slotted away after missing his last penalty claiming he will never miss 2 in a row.

The devs returned to action on Saturday seeing off Walkergate FC in a 5-3 win at home.

Devs started quickly as Kian won the ball back high up the pitch which found Aaron who slotted home within a minute. Followed quickly a Connor goal with a slight deflection to help it in.

We then went quiet and allowed Walkergate to pull 3 back putting them 3-2 up.

We eventually woke up scoring a well worked goal starting from our centre half jack who found a pass into the middle of the park which was then played out wide to Curtis who whipped in the cross of his life to find swinny at the back post. Curtis still claims it was not a fluke although we’re not so sure. 3-3.

Goals then came quickly for us as acky and Aaron found the 4th and 5th for us to see off the game.

Little mention to old boy Nathan bowerbank who still awaits a proper mention in the write up, who claims “Kians wish of a goal” for him will never come true after his shot was blocked by one of our own. #007

Haltwhistle Jubilee Devs vs North Tyne & Westholme

The scoring was opened when Chip headed home from a Kian corner to make it 1-0. Westholme pulled one back to level, but the Devs quickly regained control. Az puts the keeper on his arse and smashes into roof of net after a clever through ball from Swinny to restore the lead, before Lazenby added a third with a slow motion finish into the bottom corner, assisted by Az.

The Devs go into half-time 3-1 up.

Westholme struck early in the second half to make it 3-2, but once again the Devs responded strongly. Az grabbed his second, getting onto the end of Kian’s delivery, before debutant Ewan slotted home the devs fifth, set up by Swinny. Moments later, Dan finished into an open net after unselfish play from Az, before Az rounded off the securing his hat-trick although he could’ve had 7. Slab Head Ewan earns Man of the Match on his debut and the devs seal a 7-2 victory.

A shaky performance but still coming out dominant.

Haltwhistle Devs 6-2 Westgate

The Devs started the game sharp, taking the lead inside just 2 minutes when Kian slotted home to make it 1-0.

Westgate hit back around the 15-minute mark to level things up at 1-1, but the response from the lads was instant. A brilliant ball in from Archie was tucked away by Az to restore the lead.

Just before half time, the pressure told again as Chip slotted one home from a Kian corner and send the Devs in 3-1 up at the break.

The second half began the same way as the first – with an early goal. A overhead cross from Weeksy was met by Swinny, who powered in a header to make it 4-1.

Westgate pulled one back on 57 minutes, but the Devs responded quickly as Az grabbed his second, latching onto Chip’s perfectly weighted ball over the top to make it 5-2.

The scoring was rounded off in style when Az completed his hat-trick, finishing from Chip’s unbelievable pass to seal a 6-2 victory.

A fantastic performance from the Devs and a great start to the season. UTD💙
