I started as an actor. It felt right… until it didn’t.
Then I had kids, and suddenly I needed “real jobs”. I tried lots of them.
Helping people. Supporting teams. Coaching without calling it coaching. But none of those jobs felt like me.
They were about ticking boxes, staying inside the lines, climbing ladders I didn’t want to climb.
Eventually, I hit redundancy — and a wall.
So I went back to something I’d always loved: improvisation.
And I didn’t just find my mojo again — I found a philosophy.
Mutual support.
Empathy.
Trust.
Integrity.
Collaboration.
Fun.
I condensed it into one line: “Fun shouldn’t be hard work, but hard work should be fun.”
And here’s the elephant in the room:
We’re all winging it. All the time.
I’m not climbing a ladder anymore.
I’m playing Snakes and Ladders — and helping others do the same.
