WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!

The Hogs took a trip to Carlisle in the team’s first ever playoff games… and we only blummin got promoted!!! Three years ago, a mix of inexperienced, wannabe NFL players, fat blokes we found at a pub and people who just wanted to run around met for the first time with our leader Matthew Wilkinson and now look at us.

Thank you to the team for playing their hearts out all the damn time, thank you to the people that have been a part of the team in some way or another and thank you to our opponents for the opportunity to play.

Tastes like PROMOTION!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🏈🏈🏈🏈🐗🐗🐗🐗

In order of appearance. British Flag Football season stats.

is one of our newest additions to this team. He immediately brought a wealth of knowledge from his Uni contact team. There’s a good chance we could’ve lost games without him lurking at DB.

Will Johnson is another contact veteran. He featured briefly in the Hog’s first season before returning as a main stay in 2025. He too brought experience and organisation to the defence.

Three for three. Another contact veteran. Centres on this team are incredibly underrated but often overlooked. has one of, if not the best snaps known to man and just about the same amount of whit.

James Brown is a proper flag veteran. He’s an excellent, multi-positional, player. Perfect for any position he’s needed at, this year he provided excellent diversity on defence getting involved in many different roles.

has grown into an excellent weapon on offence both on the pitch and off. He too is versatile in different roles and has an uncanny ability to evade tackles almost without meaning to, and loves doing it. ⬆️⬆️⬆️

A pseudo home game kept us in Calderdale for the finale of the bafa season. With playoffs already achieved it was just bragging rights of division champions to play for. We knew winning out and favourable results in other games would secure it. Unfortunately the latter never came to be. Congrats Stingrays and thanks for a fierce battle all season.

Congrats to our defensive MVP who turned the tide in the final game when we needed it most. Congrats to our offensive MVP, Matthew Wilkinson, the oldest member of the Warthogs pictured holding the newest member.

Gameday 5 is done as we head by to Redcar for the second time ever. We copied our results from the first Gameday, going 2-1 on the day with a squad lacking in depth with the amazing news of QB1’s baby birth earlier this week.

We had to battle, but here are the results.

Hogs - 35 vs 24 - Calderdale Locomotives Flag Football
Hogs - 33 vs 14 - Newcastle Hawks (Shadowhawks)
Hogs - 12 vs 33 - Steel River Stingrays

Congrats to our MVPs on the day. Our offensive and defensive MVPs and Kyle Hynam had to share the beers in order to give an overall MVP John Evans for balling out on both sides in the sun all, damn, day.

With some fantastic Warthogs family news this week, a smaller squad heads to the northeast to play the reverse fixtures of Gameday 1. We’ve got some big work to do as a chance for playoff football is definitely on the cards this season.

Hosting is complete! The Hogs hosted Gameday 4 of the British Flag Football season and came away 2-1 on the day. Losing against Lancashire Bombers. They followed it up with a close win against and another win at the end of the day against Salford Scorpions (stingers).

Congrats to our MVP’s on offence and on defence for doing the dirty work on their respective sides of the ball to perfection.

We go again for Gameday 5 in a few weeks time.
