💙⚽ GRIMBARIANS MATCH REPORT ⚽💙
Immingham Pilgrims 4–1 Grimbarians | 13th September
Game two of the season saw our Grimbarians head away to face a strong Immingham Pilgrims side on a soft slightly damp but dry Barracks pitch. ☁️⚽
With Toby away today, Mousa, Noah, George, Harlow, Leo, Daniel, Henry, Kian and Zak stepped up and put in a huge shift. 💪💙
We started brightly, with Harlow making an early save and Noah putting in some great blocks at the back. Daniel's dangerous low cross nearly found its man, while Zak worked hard up front to give us an outlet.
Immingham eventually took the lead, but we responded brilliantly. A strong run from Noah helped create the opening, Henry drove forward from the right and finished superbly into the bottom corner to make it 1–1! 🎯🔥
The second quarter saw plenty of changes, with Kian battling away in midfield and defence, George stepping in with some excellent work and Leo and Daniel working hard on both wings. Mousa brought plenty of energy and pace when he came on, while Harlow continued to produce some cracking saves. 🧤👏
Immingham regained the lead, but the Grimbarians kept battling. Henry continued to put in the miles, Noah drove forward from midfield, and Kian even produced a few cheeky Ronaldo-style skills! 😎⚽ George wasn't afraid to keep getting stuck in either, making a superb sliding challenge to stop another attack.
The final quarter was all about digging deep. Harlow made more saves, Noah and George worked hard to keep things tight at the back, while Leo, Daniel and Kian continued to look for a way forward. Zak came agonisingly close with a great effort that just missed the bottom corner, and Mousa continued to use his pace whenever we got the chance to break. ⚡
Immingham added two more, but there was no lack of effort from our boys, who kept going right to the final whistle.

💬 COACHES' CORNER
The coaches felt it was a tough game and that we looked a little tired, but there are some great lessons to take forward: more passing, closing the ball down quicker and not allowing the opposition to walk through us.
As the coaches said, “It was a hard game, but we made it harder for ourselves.”
That's what junior football is all about — learning, improving and getting better together. 🌱💙
A huge well done to Mousa, Noah, George, Harlow, Leo, Daniel, Henry, Kian and Zak and of course the ref, for their commitment and determination today. 👏⚽
