Ealing Weightlifting Club Competes at Crystal Palace Spring Open

Ealing Weightlifting Club brought six lifters to the Crystal Palace Spring Open competition this Saturday, competing across three of the four competition groups. Our lifters ranged in experience from first-time competitors to seasoned athletes competing at an international level.

Vannis Jones Rahi and Shuyao Sun represented Ealing in Women’s Group B. Both delivered excellent performances and gained valuable competition experience. Neither took home medals, but both were competing in Group B for the first time, a significant stepping stone in their weightlifting careers.

Ealing first-time competitor Manveer Rahi competed in Men’s Group 8 and put together an outstanding performance. Manveer received white lights for all six lifts, a feat achieved by only a handful of competitors throughout the day.

Ealing’s Zorawar Singh took home a bronze medal in Men’s Group 8 with a strong and confident display on the platform.

Nick Potiriadis and Muhammad Sohail Khan formed Ealing’s Men’s Group B contingent. Nick showed great determination throughout the competition, while experienced lifter Mo delivered another impressive performance demonstrating his skill and consistency.

We were also treated to watching the unaffiliated Mateusz Kasina in Men’s Group B produce a remarkable display of weightlifting, showing why he is regarded as one of the strongest athletes in the competition.

Thank you to Crystal Palace Weightlifting Club for hosting the competition at Crystal Palace Sports Centre, and congratulations to all competitors for their efforts and achievements.
