Another season celebrated last night at the AGM with 14 present and 8 out of 9 teams represented.

So that’s it! The end of the season, concluding with the division 2 singles and doubles.

7 players entered the singles - Veronica, Steve, Tim, Graham, Cathy, David and Sean from just two teams in the division, Scratby and Bracecamp B. Each player played each other and the players winning the most matches were David (unbeaten winning all 6) and Sean (winning 5 out of 6). It just shows that age is no barrier in table tennis!!! Congratulations to David, a worthy winner.

Then followed the doubles - the husband and wife duo of Cathy and Graham, Steve and Tim and finally Veronica and Sean.

All the matches were really close with Steve and Tim emerging victorious winning both their matches, and Veronica and Sean coming second.

All matches were played in great spirits - thanks to everyone who has contributed in the League this season - looking forward to next season already!

Another great evening last night, with two competitions - the Women’s Singles followed by the mixed doubles.

Sarah, Cathy and Veronica battled it out, and it was SOOOO CLOSE! Having played against each other, they all won one match each so it came down to who won the most games…. Congratulations to Sarah for claiming the title, winning 4 games with both Cathy and Veronica just missing out having both won 3 games.

Then followed the mixed doubles. Steve was paired with Veronica - Cathy with her husband Graham and Sarah paired with David.

Once again, it was very very close, but emerging victorious was Sarah (her second victory in the night) with David.

On a side note, it was lovely to see Sue coming along to watch the matches - looking forward to seeing you back playing very soon.

Wow what a fun night! The random doubles was a handicapped competition where players were paired together and their combined handicaps were used to determine any points start were given.

Three matches were played up to 21. No deuces. The winning team was based on the number of games won.

There were four teams that battled it out;

Wally and Cathy
Sean and Gerry
Steve and Graham
David and Veronica

No team won all their matches, which showed how close the competition was.

Eventually, Sean and Gerry were victorious winning 7 out of 8 games with Steve and Graham in second place after winning 6 and 8 games.

Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun evening.

Two events on one fantastic evening! First we had a Singles Competition with five players from Division 1 - Simon, Mike, Darren, Wally and Martin and seven players from Division 2 - David, Steve, Veronica, Sean, Tim, Cathy and Graham.

The twelve players were split into two groups with the top two progressing into the semi finals.

The semis saw the Division 1 players, Martin play Simon and Mike play Darren.

The final was contested by Martin and Darren, with all the other players watching on. An excellent match saw Martin victorious 3 - 0, and claiming his second title in two weeks!!!! CONGRATULATIONS.

But the evening wasn’t finished there! Then came the doubles - 5 teams took part - Tim and Steve, Simon and Wally, Sean and David, Cathy and Graham with the dark horses of the competition Martin and Darren!

After each team had played each other, one team won all their four matches and were crowned champions. Congratulations to Martin and Darren - superb.

Thanks to everyone for their support - although winning is nice, it’s really about the taking part and supporting the League. Roll on next week for the random doubles, which is handicapped competition so should be great fun.
