This hasn’t been an easy decision, but we’ve decided to call it a day on Yarmouth Youth County.
What a great first season we had. We gave every kid we signed the chance to play on the stage, and we take away memories that will last forever. Hopefully, especially for some of the younger players, this experience has helped them believe in themselves a little more. They now know that if they can play in front of that many people, they can do anything.
We are all incredibly proud of every single one of you, and this is only the beginning of your darts journey.
A massive thank you to all the parents who gave lifts, gave up their time, supported the team, and helped out along the way. None of this would have been possible without you.
To our team — Incey, Martin (Gal), Gemma Reynolds, Smouty, and Jamie — it was difficult at times and there were some hard decisions to make, but together we got there.
A special mention to Lauren Thompson, who sat at every home game taking money for entry, raffles, and everything else that needed doing — and always making sure Incey had a beer while he was on the computer!
There were so many highlights. The first was having to win all of our Under-21 games to secure our first victory in our first game After winning the first four, Theo Galea stepped up at 2–2 and took out 81 on the bull — incredible scenes.
Watching Isobel Smout play on the stage with her dad watching from behind was another unforgettable moment.
But the biggest highlight of all was seeing every single one of the boys and girls support each other, win or lose. The three captains — Caprice, Jayden, and Tommy — were always front and centre. You are what made Yarmouth great.
Who knows what the future may hold, but for now, that’s Yarmouth Youth County over and out.
