We made the long trip to Bedfordshire short-handed on all fronts and came away with a 10โ5 loss โ but the scoreline really wasnโt the important part of the day.
On arrival, we were told that a young girl from the opposing team had sadly lost her dad over the Christmas period. It broke all our hearts. We were asked to wear pin badges and take part in a minuteโs round of applause, which of course we did without hesitation.
As a club, we then all chipped in and raised some money for this young lady โ and Bedfordshire very kindly matched our donation, which was an incredible gesture of support.
We also managed to get Ollie from Bull Hitters to send her out some kit, which just shows the kind of people he and they are.
A massive thank you to all the parents who stepped in to drive yesterday โ Smouty and Gal, i genuinely donโt know how we would have got through it without you.
Huge credit as well to our three youth captains: Theo, Bobby, and stand-in girlsโ captain Chloe โ all absolutely amazing.
And finally, congratulations to our three Players of the Match: Tommy, Riley KS, and Chloe (again). Outstanding performances from all of you.
In a few weeks, weโre back on the road again to Hertfordshire. Squad will be announced shortly.
