MATCH REPORT & VIDEO (link below) FOR GAME vs Shouldham & Marham United Football Club on 30/5/26 AND WORDS FROM THE CHAIRMAN
So we travelled over to Marham for our last game of the season for a friendly with a very mixed side. With basically everyone missing we had x4 1st team players, x7 Res players and a 16 year who was making his adult debut after finishing youth football (x3 of the 7 Res players were also 16) so a hard task especially in the heat that we had 🥵☀️🔥 with only x1 sub and x4 16 year old. It also didn't help there was delays or accidents or hold ups or diversions on every single road and back road we had to go down we ended up turning up 10 mins late for KO time. Lucky that the opposition was understanding and willing to wait so we got there, got changed done a 2 min warm up and got ready to start the game.
1st 5mins was cagey for both sides but after 15mins we should of been 3 or 4 up through Hoggy but he couldn't hit the target. Shouldham & Marham started to create chances and they had Cal Walker pulling off a BIG save to keep us level 20mins in. Both teams didn't seem to settle properly and HT soon came around.
The Gaffer had a chat, reminding the older lads that there is x4 16 year old lads playing and us older lads/1st team had to take the lead.
This is exactly what happened and within 10mins of 2nd half after taking some stick in 1st half off the opposition, Regan skinned his man 4 times then put through a great ball for Hoggy to run onto and slide a cross in for his step son Oakley who was the young lad making his adult's football debut to slide home to make it 1-0 AFC.
This woke us up and few moments later a throw was played into Oakley who turned his man on edge of the box and hit a cracking shot just over the bar. With the young man now full of confidence and Pasco, Marcus, Regan, Bobby and Dainty taking the lead and control of the game we were playing better football and creating opportunities but Shouldham & Marham never rolled over and still pushed on creating moments but we looked in control. Cal Walker then had to pull off another big save after their player got the ball 30 yards out and hit an absolute thunderbolt with Cal pulling off another MASSIVE save with a big hand. Then Oakley struck again. He got the ball on the edge of the box, spun his man and struck it crossbar and in only for it to be flagged offside. There was a couple more chances from couple corners but scored remained the same.
Final score: AFC United 1-0 Shouldham & Marham

M.O.M was split between Dainty, Marcus, Pasco and Regan who all had quality games and carried the lads at times and was the only 1s that represented the 1st team but a massive shout out to Oakley on his debut in adult's football and scoring his 1st goal. Well done young man and see you pre season brother.
So a very long journey there made a bit shorter on the way home thanks to a win. Thank you to Shouldham & Marham for hosting and best of luck for next season and the rebuild you having as a club. Also thank you to the lads and supporters that came and made the long journey really appreciated guys and gals.
So that's it for the 25/26 season. It's been mixed season for both teams with the 1st Team finishing mid table and having a very mixed season but finished on a high and looking towards next season. The newly formed Res finishing 9th after struggles at beginning of the season they pulled off some surprising results but took some big scorelines against them but they never give up, gave their all and worked hard all year, great stuff guys 💙💪🏻👊🏻.

We now have a break from games for a while but continuing with training throughout.
Training nights are as followed.....
Tuesday: 7-8pm, Wellesley 3g
Thursday: 6-8pm, 6th Form College 3g
Then come July we crack on proper with pre season training and as seen plenty of games to play. Fancy a change, different challenge or looking to get back into football pop along to training some time.
