AmRose Equestrian Retirement Home Dedicated Retirement Home based on 20 acres in Prestwood, Great Missenden. Our Retirement Home is based in Prestwood, Great Missenden.

We have 20 acres of lovely grazing perfect for retired horses. Large 24 x 12ft shelters and automatic water troughs in post and rail paddocks.
24/7 turn out with 6 available stables should they be required, all with rubber mats. Solarium soon to be fitted. We offer a dedicated service for the retired horses with 3 daily checks, continuous rug changes, feet picked twice a day and grooming. They are cared for like they are our own. Our package is am all inclusive package for long term retired horses. We can also offer short term rehabilitation turn out for those horses who need to be turned away for rest or as a youngster for a short period of time. I can also offer holiday livery if you would like your horse taken care of while you are away, with either 24/7 turn out or stabled. No riding can be offered at this facility.

📆 WEDNESDAY MORNINGS!

📌Would suit a freelance groom working locally or passing through that wants to add on 1.5-2hrs to their current work commitments.

The opportunity could be minimum 1.5-2 hours OR more if more hours were wanted /needed.

📍 Presswood, Great Missenden

📅 From the end of October

🍁 Hours:• Ideally no later than a 7:30am start but can be as early as you like.

Duties to include:
• Feeding and caring for all retired horses
• Turning out/bringing in a few horses
• Maintaining high standards of horse care

Option to lengthen the shift:
• Mucking out
• Filling haynets and water
• General yard duties

We are looking for someone with experience, who is confident around horses, hardworking, reliable, and able to work efficiently.

A lovely little job to suit anyone with some time on a Sunday but doesn’t want to lose their whole day!
Perfect to still fit in family time, studies or just time to R&R!!

Our Sunday groom is off to Uni….it’s the perfect role for local student with equine experience or someone wanting to earn some extra cash!

AM - approx 3hrs maybe a bit more in winter.

PM- approx 2hrs maybe more in winter.

Potentially the afternoons only could be an option for someone who fancies a few hours horsing around as I’ve had interest by someone who can only commit to a morning.

PM me if interested. Must have Equine experience.
Would also suit someone local due to the twice a day shifts. We are in Great Missenden.

📍 Presswood, Great Missenden

📅 From the end of October to the end of March

🍁 Hours:• Mornings- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Approximately 2–3 hours.
📌Ideal for a groom local to the area to fit around existing work commitments•
🤲 Working alongside our current groom

Duties may include supporting our current groom with:
• Feeding and caring for all retired horses
• Mucking out
• Turning out/bringing in horses
• Filling haynets and water
• General yard duties
• Haying winter paddocks
• Maintaining high standards of horse care

We are looking for someone who is confident around horses, hardworking, reliable, and able to work efficiently as part of a team.

🐴Equine Flu-Is Your Horse Protected?🐴

Equine Influenza (Equine Flu) is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can spread rapidly between horses — even those with limited contact with others.

Signs to watch for include:
✔️ High temperature
✔️ Coughing
✔️ Nasal discharge
✔️ Lethargy
✔️ Loss of appetite

With an increase in confirmed cases, we are recommending 6-monthly Equine Flu vaccinations for horses most at risk, including those that compete regularly.

Regular vaccination not only helps protect your horse but also reduces the risk of outbreaks within the wider equine community.

We particularly recommend discussing 6-monthly vaccinations if your horse:

🔹 Competes regularly
🔹 Is elderly, young, or clinically vulnerable
