BE CONFIDENT

Be confident with knowing what you want. Be confident with who you are. Be confident with your goals. Be confident with your mistakes. Be confident with trusting the process.

I get confidence is a hard topic. If you met me even just last year you’d not believe I’m someone who happily stands in front of 20 girls in a class teaching exercises. You wouldn’t think I’m someone who will get on stage in front of hundreds of people in a sparkly bikini and heels. You wouldn’t think I’m someone who will be happy to teach and correct people’s mistakes. A year ago I was still so shy and nervous. It took me many conversations and reflections to realise that if I mess up its not a biggie, we all make mistakes and its okay as long as we learn from them, realising I have got good knowledge and skill in what I do, realising that people will either like me for who I am or not, and that’s up to them, as long as I stay real the right people will come my way and be a part of my journey and help me develop. I evolved, and I want the same for every single one of you. I want to see people evolve, mentally and physically.

FRIDAY REMINDER THAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF A LOT MORE THAN YOU THINK

A lot of us lack self belief in some areas, we give up when things get a little tough, find it easier to just say „oh I can’t do it”.

Firstly, the way you speak to yourself matters! If you keep practicing negative self talk, telling yourself you can’t do this or that, subconsciously you will making yourself be unable to do that thing. As soon as you start having a positive attitude towards challenges and telling yourself you got this, that you CAN do it just watch how different your body will respond to this and how much more you will be able to do.

Secondly, get yourself a good circle of people around you, people who want to see you win and will push you that way. People who know more than you. People who have achieved more than you. People who inspire you. You will be amazed how much of an impact this has. And let those people push you, listen to them when they give you criticism.

Chase your dreams, go get it! Believe you can, and you will.

MONDAY MOTIVATION…?

F**k motivation. It comes and goes. Instead find your “why”, stay consistent, determined and focused. Surround yourself with people who support you, have similar goals and views, and will drive you to do better.

Actually meeting my coach over the weekend opened my eyes massively in terms of what hard work really looks like seeing a pro athlete train, and how much I am actually capable of, and how much more I need to do and how much harder I need to work. She’s definition of hard work, she gets s**t done with purpose no matter what. Resilience is another level and she inspires me to work harder.

And massive thank you to for making this happen 🫶🏻

My circle is very small, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

COFFEE ☕️

Who doesn’t love a nice caramel frappe or a hot moccha? Many of us like a sweet coffee treat either to start the day or in the afternoon to relax.

HOWEVERRRR when you’re dieting you may be ruining your progress by having that one or two coffees a day. Especially if you’re having add ons such as milk, flavouring syrup etc.

WHY YOU’RE NOT SEEING PROGRESS

This time of year a lot of people decide to start gym, get healthier, lose a couple pounds, build some muscle etc… You sign up to the gym, go in for a few weeks but.. no changes at all… sound familiar?

Here’s a few things you can do to get the most out of your health and fitness journey:

-HAVE A PLAN: The best way to get the most out of your gym time is to go in with a set plan to follow (even better if you get one written out specifically for you)
-PUT EFFORT IN: going in doing the bare minimum will get you bare minimum results, a workout should be somewhat challenging.
-GET STEPS IN: Your activity levels outside the gym matter too, especially if you’re looking to lose some body fat, aim for at least 8k steps daily
-DRINK YOUR WATER: Good hydration will benefit every aspect of your health
-WATCH WHAT YOU ACTUALLY EAT: Nuts seem like a healthy snack right? Advertised as a source of protein… Now look at the nutritional label and look at how much fat vs protein there is and the amount of calories. Make sure you’re aware of what and how much you’re consuming.
-STAY CONSISTENT: Doing one workout here and there, having one salad followed by a few usual takeaways will not get you the results. You need to stay consistent with the new changes which will eventually turn into habits.
-GET A PT: One of the best things to do especially if you’re a complete beginner at the gym is to get a PT who will guide you through your training, advise, check your form, explain what and why.

BULKING

One of the things that puts most people off of going on a bulk is the weight gain. It is bloody uncomfortable yes, especially as a female.

One of the main things that I am struggling with is having that extra weight when it comes to wearing certain types of clothes. Struggling to find jeans that fit, blazers are far too tight in the arm/shoulder area, looking out of place in a dress when your arms are bigger than average..

There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with having those feelings. I know that the bulk is a part of a bigger picture and is absolutely needed and to be completely honest I’m comfortable with being uncomfortable. I honestly don’t care what others think or feel about me “getting too big” etc.

The plus side is this is the best i have looked at this weight. This is the strongest I have ever been. The most muscular I have ever been. So overall it is so worth it for me and what I want.

Its all about how bad do you want it and if you’re willing to learn to be out of that comfort zone to get there and just accept the harsh reality.

Swipe for a flex in a dress 😂

Having there to keep me in check is definitely massive and needed.

GYM ANXIETY

(Tips to overcome this further down the post)

It happens to all of us, even me. i was in a completely different gym today, different country too, and yes I did get anxious not knowing whats where, what the people will be like… those feelings were exactly the same as they were when I first ever stepped foot in a gym.

Those feelings can be eased off, for me having a set training plan helped massively and once I had a walk around to see what is where, done a few warm up sets on machines to get the feel of the resistance and weights I was all good and able to just focus on me and my training.

Tips to overcome gym anxiety:
-Have a set training plan
-Go with a friend
-Ask the staff to show you around
-Listen to your favourite playlist whilst you train
-Get a PT/Coach

Even-though I’m an experienced trainer, a bodybuilder, have trained for years… I’m still just as human as all of you and experience the same feelings and can 100% relate.

YOUR CIRCLE ⭕️

Who you surround yourself with matters more than you think.

Surround yourself with lazy, negative people and you start to absorb their energy. HOWEVER if you’re surrounded by goal driven, positive hard working people then just watch how far you can go.

One of the things bodybuilding has taught me is that even thought its a solo sport as in I am the one responsible for my training, my food, my steps, sleep… the support and love from the ones closest to you is underrated. Sometimes you need that kick up the arse, or a hug or that little bit of help with getting that last rep in or even a lift off for your first one because otherwise you’re not getting those reps in at all… having people who will understand the mental challenges you face with being at your heaviest but then also when you’re at the end of prep and can’t even function properly. Having them there to listen, support and celebrate life with you. I need that. We all need that.

My circle is very small, but I wouldn’t want it any different.

WHAT IS YOUR “WHY”

Your WHY is the real, honest, deep reason to why you want to commit to something. Whether it be bodybuilding, running, painting… whatever it is you want to put your all into.

My WHY for bodybuilding is: being better than I was yesterday, proving to myself that yes I am strong enough to push through, that yes I can say no to foods, that I can be the hardest worker in the room.

I never had those qualities or beliefs. I had an awful relationship with food. I overate, I binged then cried because I fu**ed up again only to repeat the whole process. Now, I’m strong enough to say no to a chocolate bar, to be okay with my foods and portions, to push past the greed and hunger when needed.

I’ve overcome many hurdle but I’m striving for more and so determined to achieve a LOT more in the next few years. One of the goals is an IFBB Pro Card in the Figure class.

You can always achieve more, never stop. The opportunities are endless. Set your priorities right, set boundaries and keep fu***ng going.

Let yourself Evolve.
