Wheels around Grantown

Today is the last day of the Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival and we have the following FREE events based from the Burnfield Avenue car park:

- Veteran Cycles Ride leaving at 1030. Bikes and Riders of any age welcome

- Adaptive Cycling with Able2Adventure. Rides with a leader leaving at 1030 and 1.30. Adaptive cycles with e-assist including one tandem recumbent cycle, one bowhead rogue handcycle, one XCR handcycle, three recumbent foot pedals. Places still available.

Just 2 more days of the Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival but there are still places on our FREE events:
- Today the The SPIN Project are in the the Square offering free Dr Bike checks on your bike. Just turn up anytime between 10 and 3.
-Also in the Square today are Badenoch and Strathspey Community Connections - perhaps you could help?
- Tomorrow at 10.30 is a Veteran Cycles ride. However, all welcome regardless of your age or the age of your bike!
- Also tomorrow Able2Adventure are leading rides on adaptive trikes. This is for you if you can't ride a standard bike - greater stability, e-assist and hand or foot pedal versions.

Day 4 of the Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival and there are more FREE events. It's not too late to register
- Today we have skills sessions aimed at P6+ cyclists at 10am and 1pm
- At 6pm we have a session on reoad side repairs for adults
- Tomorrow The SPIN Project are providing a Dr Bike session on the Square - why not get your bike checked out for free?

Today is the second day of the 6 day Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival with more FREE events:
- Try an eBike - all day, just call in the Grantown Hub to find out more
- History on a Bike (10am) - with local expert Bill Sadler
- Balance Bike picnic (11am) a chance for families to meet and kids to ride together, have fun and practise their skills.
- Family Pedal Picnic (1pm) a chance for parents and children to use your bikes to meet other families and get involved in fun, outdoor activities in the woods.
- Route planning (6pm) using paper and online planning methods.

Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival 14-19 April starts today with lots of FREE events. Call in to the Grantown Hub to find out more.
On Wednesday we have:
- Ebike taster rides (all day). Join our Cycle Leader on a short ride tailored to suit you. Individuals or groups welcome! Try out an e-bike and discover local routes.
- History on a Bike (10am) with local history expert Bill Sadler exploring local history on a bike.
- Balance bike picnic (11am) a chance for families to meet and kids to ride together, have fun and practise their skills. Older children are welcome on their pedal bikes as they can encourage and inspire the wee ones.
- Family Pedal Picnic (2pm) .A chance for parents and children to use your bikes to meet other families and get involved in fun, outdoor activities in the woods.
- Route Planning (6pm) - This session will look at paper and (free) online planning methods, road and off-road routes, factors affecting route choices, escape routes and using bike computers.

Only 24h to the start of the Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival 14-19 April 2026 with lots of FREE events for all ages, interests and abilities.
On Tuesday we have:

- Ebike taster rides. Your chance to Try out an e-bike and discover local routes. Join our Cycle Leader on a short ride tailored to suit you. Individuals or groups welcome! Pop into the hub to have a go

- Wildlife on a Bike. Your chance to join wildlife expert Nick Baker exploring local wildlife on a bike.

- Customize your Bike! This one is for primary age children to customise their bike with reflective stickers and make it more visible and safer.

- History of cycling exhibition in the Grantown Hub

Only 2 days to go before the Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival 14-19 April with lots of FREE events for all ages and abilities

Next weekend we have:
- Saturday 10-3 - Dr Bike with the The SPIN Project. Free bike safety checks by a qualified mechanic to give you peace of mind, advice and share some knowledge about how to check your own bike and how to keep it happy.
- Saturday 10-3 Badenoch and Strathspey Community Connections will be on The Square showcasing the work they do throughout B&S. Perhaps you could volunteer with them?
- Sunday 10.30-12 Veteran Cycle Ride (all welcome on any age bike)
- Sunday 10-30-3.30 Adaptive Cycling with Able2Adventure. Pedal and hand-powered trikes with e-assist. If you can't ride a standard bike this is a brilliant opportunity to try out one of these trikes

Less than a week until the Wheels around Grantown Cycle Festival 14-19 April with lots of FREE events.

On Thursday 16 April we have:

- at 1.30pm a Joy Ride for adults - Joy Rides are all about using your bike to get around and passing on the magic of time spent on two wheels to anyone that wants to join in, regardless of ability, confidence or equipment. Why not give it a try?

- at 6.30pm a social road ride hosted by Cairngorm Cycling Club. The route will be an Advie loop (31km, 340m) at a no-drop pace with a possible extension to include the Braes depending on weather and rider preferences.

- 10am - History on a Bike - Join local history expert Bill Sadler for a short ride to explore aspects of local history.
- 11am - Balance Bike Picnic - Bring your aspiring cyclist along to practise their skills and have fun.
- 2pm Family Pedal Picnic - a chance for parents and children to use your bikes to meet other families and get involved in fun, outdoor activities in the woods.
- 6pm - How to plan a cycle route, on paper or online, on or off-road
