R E T U R N Yoga Retreat on Eilean Shona September 13-18th 2026 has a couple spaces left.

A truly enchanting experience that invites awe and wonder. Deep yoga practices that in conjunction with the untouched beauty of the island will help you Return to yourself, the self that is right here right now.

Long indulgent yoga practices (all levels) morning meditation, long meals, sea kayaking, swimming/sauna, walking, Forest Bathing, fireside yoga Nidra before bed and time, time and more time to restore.

I can say, hand on heart, this is one of the most special places to retreat and I'm thrilled once again to work with Kate • K a t e T u r n e r • who not only nourishes bellies with her magnificent food but also nourishes our hearts.

Any questions or interest please get in touch.

I've been ruminating on mid life recently...the season where we want to build soft nests around ourselves with routine, stability, predictably but I wonder if too much softness can dim a spark?

The heat and sweat of Hatha Vinyasa is where I go to feel the aliveness that is still there to be felt...the body that shakes, the breath that feels loud, the mind that trys to bargain its way out.

The invitation? To stay. The post class feeling? Aliveness. Nothing dimmed, everything charged.

But there is a natural craving for comfort, for ease. Embodied Yin is the soft landing, the deep listening, the quiet truth beneath the noise.

Two ways to know yourself ❤️

Midlife arrives with its own wisdom:

The wanting softens, the grasping loosens and what remains are the tiny joys and quiet comforts that carry us back to ourselves.

Yoga is the practice that keeps us open to receive them.

What tiny joys and quiet comforts are carrying you these days?

What restores your rhythm?

I've been looking at the term 'healing' recently and fell deeply into this defintion:
Healing is when a living organism returns to coherence, to rhythm, to harmony, to the sense that all the parts are communicating again.

Yoga can be one of the most powerful practices for this. Not because it 'improves' us, but because it helps us gather the parts, helps us remember our wholeness, helps us return to coherence in our own way.

One style of practice isn't enough, for me.

Some days, I need the music loud, the sweat dripping, the flow that pushes me to my edge, the kind of practice that restores my rhythm. Other days no music, more refinement on alighment and breath that restores another kind of rhythm.

Other days, I need Embodied Yin to marinade in the slowness, the stillness, the long holds that let me hear myself again.

A healing practice isn’t rigid.
It’s fluid.
It changes because we change.

So here’s the question I using this week as I find a little more time in my schedule and the one I offer to you:

What would restore your rhythm today?

This is what I teach, this is why I offer variety, they are personal practices that restore me and maybe they too help you find your rhythm on any given day.

Mondays 7-8:30pm FLOW, music, sweat, edge
Wednesday 5:30-7pm HATHA music, sweat, steadiness
Wednesdasy 7:15-8:30pm EMBODIED YIN long held floor postures, assists, yum
Fridays 6:30-8am FLOW music, sweat, edge
Sundays 5:30-7 EMBODIED YIN long held floor postures, assists, yum

A few schedule changes mid June (I'll update you shortly) as I'll be heading to the west coast for our Eilean Shona retreat, fully booked. But there's 2 spaces left for the September one if you're interested in joining x

Those who have been in intensive experiences with me lately have heard me talk about the Margaret Mead story, the one about the ancient healed femur being the first sign of a healthy civilisation.

Students once asked the famous anthropologist Mead what she considered to be the earliest sign of civilisation. They expected her to talk about tools, pottery, maybe weapons. Instead, she talked about a healed femur bone. Because a broken leg bone takes weeks to mend, and in the wild, no animal survives that alone.
A healed femur meant someone stayed.
Someone cared.
Someone looked after someone else.

We heal in community, not in isolation. We heal in circles. We heal with each other.

Yoga is not just a practice of the self, it’s a practice of collective healing. And the world, as much as I want to stay optimistic, is aching for healing. Aching for human connection. Aching for people who choose to stay, to carry, to care.

So gather people. Show them you're human. Let them show you they’re human. Remind each other what it feels like to be held, seen, and supported.

This is the work. This is the medicine. This is the healing we’re here for, together.
