After a narrow two-point loss to Edinburgh Kats two weeks ago, Grangemouth Galaxy bounced back with a victory against Edinburgh Napier on Friday night.
Galaxy set the tone early, storming to an early lead in the first quarter. However, back-to-back 3s from Napier halved the deficit by the quarter’s end, with Galaxy holding a 6-point lead at 16-10. Napier refused to back down, finding their rhythm in the second quarter. They outscored Galaxy 18-13, fueled by accurate shooting from beyond the arc, and trimmed Galaxy's lead to just 1 point by halftime.
The third quarter saw a balanced battle between the two teams. Both defenses tightened, and neither side could pull away, with the quarter ending deadlocked at 15 points each. As a result, Galaxy held on to their narrow 1-point advantage going into the decisive fourth quarter. In the final period, Galaxy stepped up their defence once more, limiting Napier to 7 points while scoring 14 of their own. This strong finish sealed the win for Galaxy, with a final score of Napier University 50 - 58 Grangemouth Galaxy.
