Horsey Buzzwords Explained - QUALIFIED
“My therapist is fully qualified.” Brilliant, but... qualified in what? The word “qualified” can sound reassuring, but on its own it tells us very little. Across the equestrian industry there are qualifications of hugely varying levels, lengths and depths. Some involve years of study, supervised practical experience and formal assessment. Others may be completed over a much shorter period. That doesn't automatically make one person good and another bad.
But as a horse owner, it's perfectly reasonable to ask:
🎓 What qualification do you hold?
🎓 Who awarded it?
🎓 What did the training involve?
🎓 Does it qualify you to provide the service you're offering?
And a genuine professional shouldn't be offended by those questions, in fact all of our Verified Members are more than happy to share their qualifications and CPD.

“Qualified” is a starting point, not the whole answer. You don't need to become an expert in every equestrian qualification out there, but you are allowed to ask what someone's qualification actually means.
