💪 DUFFY RECOVERS TO SCOOP SWINSTY SECTION WIN!

When Pete Duffy arrived for the latest open match on Swinsty Reservoir, he knew he had a challenge on his hands.

Drawn on peg 17 at the top end, he was faced with a reservoir that had dropped around five feet in just two weeks, leaving him wondering whether there would be enough water in front of him to hold any fish at all.

A quick plumb-up revealed just 3½ft of water at both 11m and 13m, while a cast with a 1oz bomb to 30m showed only a count of one-and-a-half before hitting bottom. With a strong wind making life difficult, Pete initially opted to fish the feeder at range, hoping to nick a few fish.

Unfortunately, the feeder line never produced.

With Plan A failing to deliver, Pete switched his attention to the pole and settled in for a day of adapting, tweaking and battling the conditions. The fish weren't easy to catch, but every time he made the right adjustment, another bite would come along.

Recognising that consistency was the key, Pete dug in and stuck to his guns, "hanging on for dear life" as he pieced together a hard-earned tally of fish.

By the final whistle, he had amassed an impressive 115 fish for 23lb 11oz, enough to secure a section win and an excellent fourth place overall.

Pete's successful pole approach was built around Supreme Natural groundbait and a pint of crushed h**p, creating just the right amount of attraction in the shallow water.

🏆 BACON BRINGS HOME LINDHOLME FESTIVAL TITLE!

If consistency wins festivals, then Cliff Bacon delivered a masterclass at the five-day event at Lindholme Lakes.

Cliff pieced together a string of impressive performances that saw him claim five section wins, the overall festival title and the event's biggest carp at just over 16lb!

The week started perfectly on Willows peg 2, where simple tactics with casters to the stick-ups and groundbait and corn in the shallows produced 128lb 5oz, securing the section win and second overall on the lake.

Day two on Strip peg 22 saw Cliff make an early tactical switch away from small stockies at 13 metres and target bigger fish down the edges. The move paid off handsomely, with a superb 176lb 12oz giving him both the section and lake win.

On Laurels peg 38, strong winds dictated a more versatile approach. Rotating between pellets at 13 metres, bomb and pellet, and margin lines produced 74lb 12oz, enough for another vital section victory and second on the lake.

Then came the unforgettable fourth day on Bonsai peg 35. Fishing through torrential rain, Cliff was happily catching long when he noticed something wasn't quite right. A quick glance at his bait tub revealed the water wasn't level. Looking behind him, he realised the peg itself was slowly sliding towards the lake!

After wisely relocating before providing the rest of the lads with the week's biggest comedy moment, he regrouped, switched tactics and finished strongly down the edge to weigh 141lb, securing yet another section win and third on the lake.

The final day on Benny's peg 38 was another battle against brutal wind conditions. Long-range caster fishing quickly became impossible, and after a brief "toys out of the pram" moment, Cliff adapted brilliantly. Fishing tree stumps and edge lines with casters, dead reds and groundbait, he finished with 142lb 11oz, taking another section win and topping the lake.

Throughout the week, his feed approach centred around fishery pellets soaked in Aquastim Salmon Oil, combined with a 50/50 mix of Crushed Expander and Biogrub Green groundbait.

🔥 TAMAR-IFIC! – BUCHWALDER TAKES TAMAR TITLE!🏆

Michael Buchwalder capped off an incredible week's angling by claiming the Tamar Festival title, amassing 88kg over five days to take the crown by more than 7kg!

Going into the final day, Michael drew Devon 5, a peg that suited his approach perfectly and where he was able to focus on what he enjoys most – putting together a proper roach-catching masterclass.

Conditions were far from ideal. With a strong wind howling across the venue and rain driving straight into his face for most of the day, it would have been easy to lose concentration. Instead, Michael kept his foot firmly on the gas and continued to put fish in the net.

By the end of the match, he had amassed an incredible 312 fish, proving that consistency and efficiency are often the keys to festival success. As if that wasn't enough, a surprise visitor also made an appearance, with an estimated 15lb carp finding its way into the net before it even seemed to realise it had been hooked!

Throughout the week, Michael relied on a devastatingly effective groundbait blend of Sweet Supreme Fishmeal and Supreme Skimmer, a combination that helped him build weights day after day.

After five days of hard work, changing conditions and relentless fish catching, Michael's final tally of 88kg was enough to secure the Tamar Festival crown and send him home with the winner's trophy.

💥🏆 198LB MATCH WIN ON LODGE FARM! 🏆💥

📌 Lodge Farm Fisheries, South Yorkshire

Will Shepard had another great day on Lodge Farm Fisheries, taking victory in the latest open match with an impressive 198lb from Long Island.

Drawn on peg 86, Will knew he hadn't exactly landed a flyer, but was confident enough to set up three approaches – a top kit line, a margin line to the next platform, and a bomb rod.

After a steady start on the short line, Will found himself losing ground quickly to the anglers either side. A switch to the bomb rod helped keep fish coming, but with around 40lb in the net by 11.30am, it was time to go all-in.

Heavy feeding with house pellets smothered in Scopex Stim Syrup and meat on the margin line sparked an explosive response, with fish piling in for the rest of the match.

Another fantastic result for Will and another £1 taken off Nick Atkinson.

Our man Michael Buchwalder has been taking part in the West Fest at Tamar Lakes this week.

As is generally the case on this vast venue, it has been somewhat of a mixed bag in terms of results, yet still plenty of fish have come Michael’s way, with a mix of Sweet Supreme Fishmeal Dark and Supreme Skimmer coming up trumps.

💪 FEEDERKING FINAL PLACE SECURED!

📌 Southfield Reservoir, East Yorkshire

Aquastim team member Sean Taylor headed to Southfield Reservoir for the NuFish Feederking Qualifier 3 with one goal in mind – secure a place in the final!

Drawn on peg 40, he suspected he might be just off the main feeding fish after studying the weekend Feedermasters results, but that didn’t stop him committing to a bold, positive approach.

With confidence high, Sean went all-in on a heavy worm strategy, building three distinct lines at 54m, 36m and 16m to stay flexible and in touch with the fish throughout the match.

The 54m line produced the odd fish early on, but it was the 36m range that became the main scoring area, where he steadily built his weight with a consistent run of bream and skimmers as the day progressed.

By the final whistle, Sean had landed seven bream and eight skimmers for 30lb 8oz, enough not only to win the match but more importantly to top his zone and secure a coveted golden ticket to the final.
