💪 FEEDERKING FINAL PLACE SECURED!

📌 Southfield Reservoir, East Yorkshire

Aquastim team member Sean Taylor headed to Southfield Reservoir for the NuFish Feederking Qualifier 3 with one goal in mind – secure a place in the final!

Drawn on peg 40, he suspected he might be just off the main feeding fish after studying the weekend Feedermasters results, but that didn’t stop him committing to a bold, positive approach.

With confidence high, Sean went all-in on a heavy worm strategy, building three distinct lines at 54m, 36m and 16m to stay flexible and in touch with the fish throughout the match.

The 54m line produced the odd fish early on, but it was the 36m range that became the main scoring area, where he steadily built his weight with a consistent run of bream and skimmers as the day progressed.

By the final whistle, Sean had landed seven bream and eight skimmers for 30lb 8oz, enough not only to win the match but more importantly to top his zone and secure a coveted golden ticket to the final.

With the new season only just under way at Staunton Harold Reservoir, Will Day was keen to get back on the venue and see what the opening week had to offer.

Drawn on peg 45, Will opted for a two-pronged attack, setting up a long line at 56 metres alongside a roaming rod to search for feeding fish. Starting on a five-count, the roaming approach produced a steady trickle of bites early on, before things suddenly came to life.

After locating the fish, Will enjoyed a hectic spell that saw around 15 fish and a bonus bream come in quick succession, putting together the foundations of a solid day's fishing.

As often happens at Staunton Harold, the action then became a little more challenging. Rather than sit it out, Will switched his attention to the long line, picking up a few fish but sensing something wasn't quite right. A simple tweak to a longer hooklength proved to be the key, immediately improving his presentation and unlocking more bites.

By the end of the day, Will had amassed a total of 36 fish, a respectable day's sport and a promising sign of what's to come as the venue continues to wake up for the summer months.

Central to his approach was a blend of BioGrub Green and Supreme Skimmer Natural, a combination that creates a huge underwater cloud. For Will, that visual attraction is a crucial part of drawing fish into the swim and keeping them competing for feed.

💪 BUCKLEY GRINDS OUT SOUTHFIELD SECTION WIN!

📌 Southfield Reservoir, East Yorkshire

Fresh off the back of qualifying for the Feedermasters final, Chris Buckley was eager to get the feeders back out and continue his good form. This time his destination was the northern bream mecca that is Southfield Reservoir.

A favourable draw saw Chris pull out peg 29. While still relatively new to the venue, with only a handful of visits under his belt, one thing he already knew was that Southfield can throw up winning weights from almost anywhere when the fish decide to switch on.

Sticking with a trusted approach, Chris mixed up a batch of Method Mix Green and prepared his usual loose feed offerings, confident that the fish would eventually arrive.

Unfortunately, Southfield had other ideas. The session got off to a painfully slow start, with nearly two hours passing before Chris finally registered his first fish. A brief run of three small skimmers provided some welcome encouragement, but a glance down the bank revealed fellow Aquastim angler Brian Searle enjoying one of those dream spells, netting seven quality bream in quick succession from peg 27.

Expecting his own shoal to arrive at any moment, Chris kept everything tight and remained patient. But while the big bream never fully materialised, he continued to pick away at skimmers, perch and roach throughout the day, refusing to give up on every ounce.

Late in the match, his persistence was rewarded when the short line finally produced a welcome 3lb bream, boosting his final weight to 6lb dead and securing a section win.

Meanwhile, Brian's impressive 20lb 4oz winning weight highlighted just how quickly Southfield can burst into life when the bream move in.

A blustery Saturday open at Westwood Lakes saw Steve Hardman draw peg seven on Falcon Lake, with a strong wind charging straight down the venue and making conditions far from straightforward.

Steve initially started down the edge, but with little happening, he quickly switched gears and moved out onto the track. Fishing hard pellets soaked in Salmon Oil, he soon found himself into a steady run of carp and began building a competitive weight.

As the match progressed and the bites became harder to come by, Steve stayed on the move tactically, changing lines and searching for opportunities to keep the fish coming. Those crucial adjustments helped him add the odd fish throughout the middle stages and stay firmly in contention.

With the match finely balanced heading into the final hour, Steve returned to the edge armed with paste – and the gamble paid off in style. A late burst of action saw him add some vital carp to his tally and surge to a winning weight of 113lb, enough to take top spot on Falcon Lake in a closely fought contest.

🏆 SEARLE STRIKES SOUTHFIELD GOLD ON AQUASTIM DEBUT!

Brian Searle kicked off his first match under the Aquastim banner in style at the mighty Southfield Reservoir, drawing peg 27 in a match with 30 anglers on the lake, meaning each competitor had a spare peg to one side.

Going in with a clear plan, Brian set two lines, one at 50 metres targeting skimmers, and another at 30 metres hoping for the bonus bream that can make all the difference at this venue. Early feeding saw the 30-metre line receive a steady “boshing”, while the longer range line was fed more sparingly to build interest.

A solid start brought four early skimmers from the area, but as the session developed and a “million geese” decided to sit over the long line, attention quickly shifted closer in.

That decision proved decisive. First cast on the shorter line and the rod hooped round instantly, followed by six more fish in the space of an hour, a rare and crucial spell of action on the notoriously tricky venue.

From there, bites dried up, but the damage was already done. The early burst proved enough to secure a fantastic match win on his Aquastim debut!
