came to us just over a month ago with PB’s of 19:32 & 40:04 for 5km and 10km respectively. He has never had any structured training until now.

Fast forward a month, Conner now has a structured plan tailored towards him. Alongside this was his dedication and hard work which resulted in Huge Improvements... 18:48 and 38:52 for 5km an 10km.!! Smashed both targets!

Race-paced sessions are absolutely vital whether your a recreational runner or an elite runner. All runners of all distances ranging from track to 5k, 10k and marathon runners all use race-paced sessions within their training plan.

It enables the body to respond to adaptation and get “comfortable with the uncomfortable”.

Strides.

Strides after a hard training session or even after steady runs add several benefits to your running. You can do strides relaxed or even at 80% of maximum effort and it won’t affect your training in a negative way. Try 4 x 15secs after your next run and let me know how it goes!

🔥BENEFITS💪🏻:

- Enhanced running efficiency.
- Improves running mechanics.
- Improves running speed.

Huge well to , Kate Gardiner & Rachael Louise O'Brian for all smashing their PB’s today.! Big well done for all the hard work and training you have been putting in!!

Weekend results:

is flying at the moment, smashed his 10mile PB, knocking 2mins 36secs off his time. Ever so close to a 10k PB in the process!

Kate Gardiner ran a superb 10mile race, stuck to the race plan and started off well and build into it. Coming ever so close to a PB, narrowly missing out on a PB by just 2secs.

Rachael Louise O'Brian ran a very strong race, knocking a massive 4minutes off her 10mile PB from last year. Put her foot down from miles 5-8!! Also the day before ran a very strong Parkrun, a course PB in the process as we. A fantastic weekend!!

ran a very solid 10mile race, despite the few setbacks this week she managed to get the 10miles race ✅ and a very solid time too. Still currently laying down the foundations of training and definitely a lot more to come with the main goal coming over the months ahead.

Very proud of everyone who raced this weekend! A lot more to come, with everyone’s different goals and targets coming up over the next few months!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the first few days of the new year and are looking forward to some upcoming races!

For anyone who is interested in a 1 , 2 & 3month training plan for the Months February - April, please can you express your interest before 27th January as that will be the cut off point.
