Not the way we wanted to kick off our season, however, the lads can be more than happy with the performance today.
We showed exactly why teams are talking about us. After a slow start, we built into the game, creating chances, a few of which we were unlucky not to convert.
Adwick are a strong, powerful team and caused us numerous issues from corners and set pieces. It didn’t take long for the away side to convert. We carried on to play our game with some slick passing, intricate build up and eventually we managed to put the ball in the net.
However, as the old saying goes, “if you don’t take your chances, you will get punished,” and that’s exactly what happened. The away team managed to convert their chances and eventually ran out 4-1 winners.
We can’t be disappointed about the performance; we can only work hard and push on to the next game.
