A brilliant family adventure on the Afon Sychryd — full of energy, laughter, and just the right amount of nerves.

This awesome family threw themselves into every challenge: swimming down the river, jumping off waterfalls, scrambling through the gorge, and of course… pushing each other in whenever they got the chance. A few moments of fear showed up along the way, but they smashed through it together and came out buzzing.

Such a great day with a family who know how to have fun and back each other all the way.

What a stag day out on the Afon Mellte! 💦🔥
This crew absolutely sent it — walking through waterfalls, diving head‑first into deep pools, scrambling up and down rock, and even jumping off a 26ft waterfall like it was nothing.

The laughs were constant, the energy was unreal, and the whole day felt like the perfect mix of adventure and catching up with the lads. Exactly what a stag weekend in South Wales should be.

What a day for this stag group on the Afon Mellte! ☀️ With perfect sunshine and spot‑on water levels, the lads absolutely threw themselves into every challenge. From jumps to scrambles to full‑body plunges, they smashed the entire gorge from start to finish.
The energy, teamwork and laughter made it an unforgettable adventure — exactly what a stag weekend in South Wales should be. Massive well done to the whole group for giving it everything.

Kesteven Under 15s absolutely smashed their gorge scrambling adventure on the Afon Sychryd this weekend. From powering through fast‑flowing sections to leaping off waterfalls, they threw themselves into every challenge with total commitment.
Their determination, teamwork, and willingness to push their limits made the day something special. Watching them support each other, laugh together, and take on the gorge with confidence was exactly what adventure is all about.
A fantastic effort from an outstanding team. Thank to YHA Brecon Beacons for having the team to stay.

A fantastic family day out! This adventurous crew threw themselves into the gorge walk last weekend, pushing their resilience, confidence, and family bond every step of the way. They gave absolutely everything a go — even in cold water, hail, and rain.

What an epic day of adventure for these Explorer Scouts! From climbing roaring waterfalls to navigating the twists and turns of the gorge, our young explorers showed incredible courage and teamwork. The highlight of the day? Abseiling off a towering viaduct—an unforgettable challenge that every Explorer tackled with determination and a huge smile.
These experiences build confidence, resilience, and lifelong memories. We’re so proud of every Explorer who stepped up, supported each other, and embraced the wild outdoors.
