Results & Fixtures
Last Saturday’s games were affected by rain again, but all 3 teams finished their games with 2/3 wins. The 1sts restricted Gloucester to 197-9 off their 50 overs, thanks largely to Ed Goolden’s 3 wickets leaving Gloucester 8-3 in the first 4 overs. C&S then looked in trouble chasing a revised target of 193 when we were 92-6 before Matt Brown (55*) and Will Turner (39) put on 100 to lead C&S to the win.
The 2nds bowled first and Whitminster got 209 from their 40 overs, skipper Dave Bates taking 3-23. C&S then had a revised total of 133 from 20 overs, with contributions throughout before Shaun Turner hit a quick 30 off 19 balls as C&S won by 2 wickets.
The 3rds fell short of their target of 190, after Tom Cox had taken 3-39, despite Wayne Organ’s first (!) 50 for the club, ending up 71* - well batted Wayno!
The Friendly XI had a good run out against Down Hatherley, with some recent juniors & dads playing their first senior games for the club, Adrian Pearson hitting 24* in his first game for C&S.
We also had an U11s team out for the first time in a few years, getting a 3 run victory against Ruardean Hill - well done all, and great signs for the club!
