Some rest before the fun begins this evening, sun is coming out for 9pm bowls, followed by music, grub, club refreshments to charge is on to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 First World Cup game.

We can boogie.

Members of Meikleriggs were saddened to learn of the death of one of our former members John Spence who passed away on 26th May.
John and his wife Tess joined Meikleriggs in 1985 and were stalwarts of the club throughout their time as members.
John was an excellent bowler who played both outdoor and at Paisley Indoor Bowling. He just loved the sport.
Our condolences go to his daughter Karen.
John's funeral will take place at Woodside Crematorium on Thursday 11th June at 10am.
RIP John.

Sat 6 June 4.00pm for 4.30pm start.

After the success of our Saturday mixed wappenshaw for members last week, we will go again this Saturday 23rd at 2.30 for a 3pm start. Please come along and join in the fun as well as getting a bit of practise in.
This week both ladies and gents have teams out in both Scottish and RBA games so good luck to them all this coming week and well done to all who were successful in their Prelim games.
Our Mixed Pairs teams play on Sunday evening at 6.30pm. After a great win by Paul Elmes and Louise Wilson last week, they play at Elderslie Wallace and our second mixed pairs team Tom and Deborah Stafford who had a bye last week, play their game at Ralston.
Please try to get out and support all of our teams.

Our Ladies' Section held their annual Moira Boyd Member and Friends competition yesterday. It was a great day of bowling and friendship with 60 ladies taking part.
Our sincere thanks go to Kenneth Keegan Funeral Directors who once again sponsored our day.
Congratulations to the winners, Pamela Corrigan, Angela Gallagher and Sandra Lawrenson.
The runners-up were Isobel Mills, Mary McLelland and Brenda McMillan. Well done everyone.

Balloted triples today, what a great day with the sun shining down on us after some supberb bowls and fantastic final that went to extra end, it was well done Drew Neil, Colin Neil and Paul Elmes winning the triples trophy which allowed President John Bell to present the first trophy of the season. The second trophy was awarded to our wood spoon team The Four K***s trophy which went to Roddy McIntosh, Joe Mcmennemy and Bob McNeil.

Well done to all who participated today and thanks to all the bar staff and Andy Tomlinson for running today’s event.
