👇is the Turkish Get Up the move fundamental movement?👇

Now this demonstration is for the example of someone injured so I’ve obviously not done it exactly the right way but the principle stays the same.

I used to joke the burpee was just practice for getting back up quickly when you fell and embarrassed yourself but that kinda stuck and resonated with people.

I then heard someone talking how the Turkish Get Up is the perfect example of how to get off the floor if you’re hurt.

Yes you need to practice it but it’s a great example of how to move your body if you’ve injured an arm and safely get off the ground.

Who is this relevant for? Basically anyone, more so for the older generation but we could all end up in this situation and need to get out of it.

👇change your grip 🤝 get your pull up👇

When you’re setting up for a pull up you really want to get your knuckles on top of the bar as much as you can. This also carries over to other movements…

But…

With the pull up, if your knuckles are behind the bar or under the bar at all then you’ll find it much harder to get the lats and shoulders involved to pull yourself up to get your chin over the bar.

So…

Next time, knuckles on top of the bar, when you start to try and get the chin over think about squeezing the shoulder blades together.
