Melting Pot and Lets Go Back to the 80s reunite for another East End Disco Session down at Drygate - with a 6 hour journey into the halcyon periods of disco - the 70s and 80s. 🕺💃🎹

Expect a stunning soundtrack in our East End disco loft, with an L-Acoustics sound system, dancers, balloons, a massive mirror ball and an outdoor terrace to chill out on as we say farewell to summer with our Disco All Dayer. 🌞🎈

DISCO - Founded in New York City in early 70’s, a phenomenon happened that changed music and nightclubs forever -

From the underground bath houses hosted by Frankie Knuckles, the apartment parties held by David Mancuso at The Loft, Nicky Siano's Gallery parties to the opulence of Studio 54.

Moving into the early 80’s the mutant disco coming out of New York's Paradise Garage hosted by Larry Levan.

As well as Frankie Knuckles at the Warehouse & Ron Hardy’s Music Box in Chicago influencing a whole new generation of clubbers with their eclectic mix of leftfield Disco .

Disco was about breaking the boundaries in music - DJs playing eclectic records to gay and straight, rich and poor. The audiences were now mixed together in one Disco Melting Pot.

With Producers such as Walter Gibbons, Giorgio Moroder and Tom Moulton making records now specifically for the dance floor. Artists like Chaka Khan, Prince, Diana Ross, Grace Jones, Gloria Gaynor, Chic, Sylvester and Donna Summer were taking the sound to the world - it was a revolution!

🚨Less Than Four Weeks To Go Alert🚨

It’s been a minute, but coming up in only 27 days, Lets Go Back are going back to playing late, and we’re bringing justin robertson with us.

The legendary DJ has a long history with the LGB crew, guesting at multiple club events over the years, but more recently has been spearheading our early club night In Dusk We Trust in McChuills, with every party being more magickal than the last. So who better to have join us for what has been a long-awaited return to late night partying.

If that wasn’t enough, Justin is kicking off the night with Five Green Moons, his unique and mindblowing live set that sees incantations and Dubwise vibrations fused with angular guitars and skittering basement electronics to form a new entity. Five Green Moons is a spell made manifest. A bass heavy exploration of sonic ritual music.

This is just the first of many parties we’ll be having in our new home at The Berkeley Suite and we know every one of them is going to be something special. Come and join us. We’d love to see you there.

We’ve had another mega weekend here in McChuills but it’s not over yet. Is it really ever?

It’s certainly isn’t for those 24-hour party people who live to rip the arse oot of every weekend, the (barely-)living legends that are the Lets Go Back crew who will be rocking the bar tonight as usual with their infamous Sunday Soundclash Rave.

You know the drill by now. Our professional enablers in residence will be cranking out a soundtrack of anything and everything, from old-school hip hop, rave and house, through dub, breaks and more, right up to the very latest in cutting-edge floorfillers, as well as anything else, from any genre, that takes their fancy.

All with full rave lighting, smoke, lasers snd general vibes. ‘Cos that’s how they roll…yes, we said lasers. In a pub. On a Sunday. For we are McChuill’s. And we have lasers.

If that wasn’t enough, this week their special guest, is thee most-excellent Dan Monox.

Dan has been part of Glasgow’s underground for the best part of three decades — behind the counter at Rubadub Records and behind the decks pretty much everywhere else.

Rubadub’s where a lot of people first heard him talk about music, long before they ever heard him play it — the shop’s been a proper hub for the city’s scene for years, and Dan’s been part of that story from early on. Before Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, he co-founded Monox, the techno night that ran for a decade and became a fixture in its own right, alongside label MNX Recordings.

Most recently he’s one half of Dixon Avenue Basement Jams with The Wasp — real, raw house and techno, and a DJ Mag Best British Breakthrough Label award to show for it.

Tonight he’s stripping it right back — a small, close-up set at McChuills. No big room, no light show, just a record collection with a lot to say.

Residents special tonight!! 🔥🔥🔥

The weekend is nearly over, but is it ever really over if you don’t want it to be? We don’t think so and neither do those evangelical Monday-deniers in the Lets Go Back crew, who are incoming to help us all rip the arse out another one with their infamous Sunday Soundclash Rave.

This week, it’s a residents special, so the lads will be digging deeper into their collections, going b2b and generally cranking out a soundtrack of anything and everything, from old-school hip hop, rave and house, through dub, breaks and more, right up to the very latest in cutting-edge floorfillers, as well as anything else, from any genre, that takes their fancy. It’s that time of the month again, where we welcome back one of the best DJs in Glasgow, our own glorious leader and benevolent dictator and the driving force behind Lets Go Back, yes the sharp-dressed man himself, comin’ Straight outta Paisley…the one and only Bosco…

The bold yin will be rocking the McChuills decks all night long and there’s probably no other DJ that knows quite how to get this place bouncing than the big fella (well, him and his Da, obvs) and rightly so…

Aaaanyway…expect anything and everything, from classic indie, ‘80s pop anthems, punk both regular and post, disco, as well as plenty of old-school hip hop and rave all the way up to the very latest cutting-edge bangers and a whole lot more. And yes, there will be acid. Lots and lots of acid. Because he can’t help himself. 🥴
