As our Merry Christmas Rum Tasting on 20 December sold out — thanks for that again! 🤩 — and there’s been a number of names put on the waiting list for that event, I’m floating a potential second date…

*The Festive Double Attendance Prize Draw will take place at the Christmas Rum Tasting on 20 December. Guests must attend both Winter Events to qualify.

Each event will launch with only 8 Presale tickets at £30, allocated strictly in the order booking requests reach our inbox. Limited VIP tickets will also be available from launch.

Once the Presale allocation for an event is claimed, Essential tickets at £35 and any remaining VIP tickets will become available through our regular booking links.

The Winter Double Reward will remain available until 10pm on Friday 11 September, subject to ticket availability.

🌵🇲🇽 From Blanco to Barrel 🇲🇽🌵

Last Sunday we welcomed our dedicated tasters to The Ettrick Bar for an afternoon exploring the incredible journey of tequila, from its freshest expression through to the rich influence of oak maturation.

Together we discovered four very different expressions, learning how time, barrels and production decisions shape the spirit in the glass.

Our showcase line-up was:

Olmeca Altos Plata () - served with Double Dutch Double Lemon & our in-house dehydrated lemon. 🍋
Casamigos Reposado () - served as a Paloma with Double Dutch Pink Grapefruit Soda, fresh lime & our homemade grapefruit & Cornish sea salt rum. 🍋‍🟩
El Tequileno Gran Reserva () - served to showcase a richer, more traditional interpretation of Reposado with Double Dutch Soda Water & dehydrated orange. 🍊
Don Julio Añejo () - enjoyed near (or with a splash of Double Dutch Ginger Ale), paired with 85% dark chocolate to demonstrate the beautiful relationship between oak maturation and cocoa.

The vote winner on the day was Casamigos Reposado! 🏆

🥃🌴 Caribbean Cruise Rum Tasting 🌴🥃

What a voyage! On Sunday at The Ettrick Bar, we set sail across the Caribbean, exploring 4 distinctive rums and the stories behind the glass. 🛳️

The lineup:

🇦🇬 English Harbour 5 Year Old — Antigua: balanced & approachable
🇨🇺 Ron Santiago de Cuba 11 Year Old Añejo — Cuba: smooth, elegant & oak-aged
🇯🇲 Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve — Jamaica: bold, fruity & funky
🇬🇾 El Dorado 12 Year Old — Guyana: rich, dark & decadent

Each rum was served with carefully selected mixers from Double Dutch, paired with complementary garnishes & explored through flavour, history & production style. 🍍🍊

Along the way, we covered Caribbean rum history, island identity, cask ageing, Jamaican “funk” & the deep Demerara richness of Guyana. ⚓

With just a few weeks to go we are announcing that there is just 1 final table available for our “Botanical Journey” Gin tasting event @ The Ettrick Bar on Sunday 19th April!

The table can seat up to 3 tasters!

The event will highlight the core botanicals which make gin express in it’s various different ways and give some knowledge which will help you find more gins that suit your tastes!
