๐Ÿ† A fantastic result for โ€” all three of our competitors have qualified for the Area Eventing Championships! ๐Ÿ†

Huge congratulations to Sophie Marshall & Foggy, Sophia Tokarski & Razz, and Pippa Rollinson & George, who all secured their places at the championships after showcasing their wonderful all-round horsemanship across dressage, show jumping, and cross-country.

An incredible achievement and a real testament to the hard work, dedication, and partnership between horse and rider. Well done to you all โ€” we are so proud! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿด

Sharing some lovely photos from the day, along with a report from DC Jenny Fowles with all the details.

"A great, if rather long and hot ๐Ÿฅต day for our eventers yesterday. In the 90cm Foggy was impatient to get through his dressage test and onto the jumping, where further distractions resulted in a few poles falling. He then thoroughly enjoyed himself on the cross country going clear, and both he and Sophie finished looking very pleased with themselves, pulling up the leaderboard to finish a creditable 12th.

"Our 70cm team had been reduced to 2 individuals (Sophia and Pippa) when Nancyโ€™s Patchy sadly went lame on Saturday ๐Ÿ˜ข, but they flew the Glaisdale flag high. Sophia and Razz did a great dressage to lie 3rd, with Pippa and George a bit further down the order.

"The jumping phases caused some problems for a lot of people in this class, but not our girls and ponies, who jumped double clears, and were rewarded with Sophia winning the class and Pippa climbing the leaderboard to finish 5th, both qualifying for the champs ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ.

Well done everyoneโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฅณ and thanks to Alison Wilson and
Beth Hodges for the training, and Fiona Atkinson for being my fence judging buddy."

"Area eventing update : We learnt last night that Sophie and Foggy have qualified for the champs as part of the Area 3 of the Pony Club mixed team๐Ÿฅณ"

๐ŸŽ‰ Area 3 Show Jumping Qualifier โ€“ June 2026 ๐ŸŽ‰
What a fantastic day for โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿด
Our riders represented the branch brilliantly with:
- 3 teams of 4 riders
- An additional 3 individual competitors

Results = ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ† Championship qualification in both the 70cm and 80cm classes! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†

Report from Jenny Fowles with all the details at the bottom of the post๐Ÿ‘‡but a quick thank you to the 'team behind the team':
๐ŸŽ Alison Wilson who warmed up combinations for almost all of the 29 rounds across multiple rings throughout the day.
๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Our DC, Jenny Fowles, coordinated the logistical challenge of riders, horses, saddle pads (!) and timings. Sadly there are no photos of Jenny because, as one parent put it, she was simply โ€œa blur moving quickly between the rings!โ€
โค๏ธ Gill Halton, Although her son graduated from Pony Club some time ago, Gill remains an active committee member (including serving as one of our camp cooks!). Several parents asked for Gill to be thanked after she spent Sunday offering ringside advice and helping to calm a few pre-round nerves.

Official DC report..

"Well done to all our members competing at the Regional SJ competition - with a massive entry of 161 riders across the 3 classes they did us proud.

We came away with 6 members qualifying for the 70cm - Opal, Pippa, Elizabeth and Aoife finishing in 2nd place as a team, Nancy (Beau) as a member of a mixed team and Zoey as an individual. All jumped double clear rounds tho Aoife unfortunately collected a few time faults.

In the 80cm Nancy (Patchy) and Sophia qualified individually, with Nancy finishing in 4th. They both jumped double clear, as did Elizabeth, and Aoife was again clear over the jumps but picked up one very irritating time fault.

Our other competitors picked up faults but rode well and just didnโ€™t have luck on their side today.

Well done everyone and a big thank you to Top Trainer Alison Wilson who managed to warm up and help almost every time over a total of (I think) 29 rounds, with just a couple of time clashes that meant she didnโ€™t quite get there in time - we are so lucky to have her โค๏ธ

Champs here we come!! ๐Ÿฅณโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿด๐Ÿ˜Š"

We are lucky to have several village shows with equestrian classes coming up around us, including Hinderwell Horse & Agricultural Show Society, Egton Show, Rosedale Show and many more.

In preparation for the outdoor show season, held a showing rally today where our members polished up their plaiting and showing skills. They now just need to practise their sewing skills to get their new badges onto their Pony Club jumpers! ๐Ÿชก๐Ÿด

Well done everyone โ€” a lovely rally enjoyed in the sunshine โ˜€๏ธ

Glaisdale Pony Club โ€“ Summer Achievement Badge Series

At Glaisdale Pony Club, we offer our members the opportunity to learn both mounted and dismounted skills. This year our badge experts (Fiona and Kathryn) are running a dismounted summer achievement badge series focusing on completing the special Blue Cross Equine Welfare Badge!

This prestigious badge is awarded to members who successfully achieve all 10 specific badges required within the Blue Cross Equine Welfare syllabus.

About the Sessions
- Open to all members โ€” any age and any ability
- Non-mounted sessions โ€” no pony required!
- Fun, activity-based learning with plenty of laughs along the way
- Hosted by Fiona at Twizziegill Farm, Easington, TS13 4UH
- Sessions run from 6:00pm to approximately 7:30pm

Each session will cover 2 of the 10 required badges, meaning there are 5 sessions in total, plus an additional catch-up session for anyone who misses a date.

For children who have already achieved some of the mini badges, our very own quiz master Marie will be on hand to help guide them through the next stage โ€” the Achievement Badge levelโญโญโญ

Back in March, we were delighted to report that some of our show jumpers had won the Area 3 of the Pony Club Winter Show Jumping Points Series!

Congratulations again to Aoife, Pippa, Elizabeth and Opal, who won a fantastic 2-hour arena hire at Port Royal EEC for the club ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ

This Saturday, the winners invited fellow club members to join them and enjoy the prize. It was a brilliant opportunity to hold a show jumping rally at a different venue, with coaching from Alison Wilson. Everyone had a great time, and it was wonderful to see members supporting each other and making the most of this fantastic achievement!

In 2025, our small but mighty was incredibly proud to see several of our talented show jumpers qualify for โ€” and then go on to win โ€” both individual and team competitions at the Show Jumping Junior Series Final at Bishop Burton. Sponsored by Easibed, it was a truly memorable day for the club. ๐Ÿ†

Now, some of our members are setting their sights on the 2026 qualifiers, which are already getting underway.

We had a lovely day in the sunshine at the Duncombe Park show, where the SJ qualifier was kindly organised by Sinnington Pony Club. Huge thanks to everyone involved for such a friendly and well-run event.

Report from DC Jenny Fowles:

"Well done to our show jumpers who went to Duncombe Park for the first outing on grass of the year. Our 60cm team of Pippa, Liv and Gracie finished in 3rd, with double clears and qualifying individual placings for Pippa (2nd) and Gracie (7th). Opal was 3rd in the 60cm open.

In the 70cm the team Pippa, Liv, Gracie and Elizabeth also finished 3rd, with double clears for Pippa and Elizabeth, Pippa finishing 3rd individually and qualifying. Opal competed as an individual but both she and Liv had good times but unlucky poles keeping them out of the line up.

Luck deserted Elizabeth in the 80cm and she finished with a good time but 4 faults.

Thank you to Sinnington Pony Club for a friendly and well run day with super rings and ground, and even organising the weather ๐Ÿ˜‚"

Sharing some pictures from last year's final, the Duncombe Park show SJ qualifier and also of some members who participated in showing classes. (Members who attended, please feel free to add additional pictures in the comments if you were at the show - we would love to see them.)
