The season starts this weekend and we welcome the newly reformed Ryton Social as we look to start our season positively.

First friendly back on home soil this Sunday. After a drop out earlier in the week, thanks to Ryton Social FC for stepping in at short notice! 🔵⚪️

⚽ Another tough friendly this morning! 💪

Another friendly against another top side! Our manager decided to switch things up and go with a 4-4-2, wanting to pair our exciting young striker with Diver to see how they worked together.

Unfortunately, on such a big pitch, it didn’t quite work out as planned. Although we started brightly, Prudhoe soon began to overrun us through the middle and took a 2-0 lead.

Once we recognised the issue and switched to three in midfield, we looked much better and started playing some really good football. We created a couple of opportunities in the second half to get ourselves on the scoresheet, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

Prudhoe added a third, another header from a set piece and their second free header of the game.

Despite the result, the lads deserve huge credit. They never let their heads drop and continued to work hard against a very good Prudhoe side who will no doubt be there or thereabouts in Division One of the Hexham & District League. 👏

Lots to take from the game and plenty to build on! 💙⚽
