Gala hosted Hibs 2014s in the John Collins Cup on Saturday 6th June. This was Gala's 2nd game in as many days but the boys were desperate to give a good account of themselves.

The first half got underway and it was the young Hibs team that were looking the better side playing some attractive football and putting Gala under lots of pressure. Hibs broke the deadlock with a nice through ball to the pacey striker who slotted past the Gala keeper. Hibs then made it 2 - 0 from a corner which wasnt cleared and allowed the Hibs player to bundle the ball into the open net. Hibs continued to dominate and made it 3 with some good play and a cross was headed home from close rang to make it 3.

Gala come out the second half and started playing some better stuff . A great in swinging corner from left was fired home by Alfie at the back post to get Gala back in the game. The young Hibs side looked a little startled and Gala created a few more chances. Hibs steadied the ship and scored a 4th goal to widen the margin back to 3. Gala never gave up and managed to get one back with some good play down the right which ended up in the Hibs Keeper clearing the ball to MacKenzie 6 yards out, he done his best to convert the chance but it was Leo who managed to get the ball over the line and get the score back to 4 - 2. This gave Gala a great lift and they score another with 3 minutes to go when Finlay scored from a corner. Gala had there tails up but the final whistle blew and Hibs retained the John Collins Cup.
