Calm and humid conditions at Llyn Brenig today for our August boat match. ☀️

Biggest bags saw only 3 fish caught with others catching one or two. 🎣

Onwards to Ladybower Reservoir for our September match.

Let’s hope for some rain to get the levels up! 🌧️

Add fish-eating birds to Schedule 2.1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981

Amend Schedule 2.1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to list cormorants, goosanders and red-breasted mergansers that they may be managed, enabling proportionate control to protect inland fisheries and migratory fish populations where serious damage is evidenced.

On Sunday, we fished out June boat match at the stunning mid-Wales venue of Llyn Clywedog Trout Fishery 🎣

In glorious weather, matched only by the rolling hills, all members fishing caught well with many reaching their 6 fish limit. ☀️ ⛰️

The trout were very hard fighting and taking dries most of the day, proving excellent sport for all. 🪰

We can’t wait to return again for our last boat match of the season in October! 🗓️

Our next match is at Barnsfold as we return to our bank venue competition. 🐟

🔔 Tonight we move to a new venue for our monthly members meetings. 🔔

White Lion Alvanley Cheshire 8pm every first Wednesday of the month.

To mark our first meeting here, our treasurer and former England international Phil Burgess will give a talk on lure fishing.

Meetings are in large side room off the restaurant on the left side of the pub. If you’d like to come along please send a message, no obligation to join the club.

Last night our secretary Simon Smith gave an informative and detailed talk on how to fish rivers as a beginner.

At most of our meetings we aim to have an expert speaker to offer help and advice to our members.

Please note that we also changing our meeting venue to The White Lion, Alvanley as of June.

Yesterday we fished our monthly match from the bank at Blithfield Reservoir Trout Fishery

A great day was had by all members with close to 40 fish caught in total.

On May 10th we will be heading to Trawsfynydd for our first boat match of the year.

At our April meeting last night, we were treated to an inspiring talk from our chairman, Jonathan Moores who spoke to members about various ways that trout can be cooked. 🐟

Samples of trout pate and trout gravlax were on offer which went down a storm. Knife 🍴

Our next match is at Blithfield Reservoir on Sunday 19th April. It is taking place from the bank only. 🎣

Last Sunday we fished Barnsfold Water in somewhat challenging conditions. 💨

The real aim here was who could the best seat next to fire!

Last night our members were treated to a unique insight into what makes a champion angler tick 🏆 💪🏻

Craig Barr spoke at length and eloquently at Helsby Community Sports Club on his methods and how he reads the water to reach his bag limit and more than often far exceed it!
