Sunday Blacks Match Report 📣

Southport Trinity 2-9 FJSC Black

Fantastic performance from the lads today! The quality of football on display was the biggest positive aside from the scoreline.
Seb, Harry, Jen and Will really made the middle of the park their own allowing Reuben and Ben off the leash to get 7 between them. Connor and Fabian chipped in with wingers goals which is always a massive plus.

Todays Player of the Match was stand in goalie Eoin - not just for taking one for the team but looking the real deal to go with it!

We go again! 💪

Sunday Whites Match Report 📣

Southport Yellows 3-2 FJSC White

A really close game. We where unfortunate to not get anything today. We had chances in the first half to take a lead, but went a goal down just before the whistle. We then conceded 2 quick goals at the start of the second half, but never gave in.
A goal from Franek from a brilliant run down the line by Luke gave us hope. Then Ben crossed the ball from a freekick and Evan mckeown headed home to make it 3-2. The lads played some good football on the floor and battled hard all game.
Evan mckeown was man of the match today. He was absolutely solid at centre half and deserved his goal.

Sunday Whites Report 📣

FJSC 2-2 SA Reds

Our first point of the season and only minutes away from our first win.
Two headed goals from patrik from Ben’s excellent corners gave us a 2-0 lead. We had chances to go three up with some great play from our captain Luke down the wing.
Sadly they scored 2 in the last 10 minutes to make it 2-2, but we never gave in and still pushed for the winner.
This was the hardest its been to pick a MOM as every player gave their all. Harry ball was excellent in goal and made some world class saves. He is our player of the match today, but a special mention to Patrick who was brave at the back post with two headed goals.

Saturday Blacks Report 📣

FJSC 11 - 1

Muddy old afternoon at Buckley Hill but that didn’t stop the Blacks reaching double digits for the third time this season.
In a game where the wider squad were drafted in, goals from Ben (4) Reuben (2), Lucas and Harry made it 8 going into half time.
Some rotation at half time and with the pitch now cutting up, the goals kept coming. Harry added a second before the impressive and today’s Player of the Match Luke got his brace.

Strong professional performance today, need to take that into next week! 💪

Sunday Blacks Match Report 📣

Southport Athletic 0 - 12 FJSC

We were really pleased with the football the boys played today on a very heavy pitch. They can be proud of conducting themselves so well and for being humble in victory.
In many ways that’s the most important take out. Too many good performances today to go through them all individually but it’s pretty obvious that 6 goal man Ben played rather well and was Player of the Match!
Other scorers were Seb S, Will, Lucas, and Harry.

Special mention goes to Seb S who really showed his class throughout. Alastair had a strong debut and Seb BC, Joe and Henry helped keep things solid at the back 🤍🖤

Sunday Whites match report 📣

A few small errors in the first half had us down 5-0 at half time. The boys came out in the second half more positive and started to create chances and clearing the ball from defence more effectively. Evan meehan slotted the ball home to give us a goal and chances for Patrick and franek went close. We conceded a couple more but the lads where very impressive in the second half.
Player of the match was Dylan. Dylan made some excellent slide tackles and was never quiet in organising and encouraging his team mates.

Saturday Blacks report 📣

Tower Hill 8 - 2 FJSC

Top of the league clash proved a test too far for the Blacks on a cold and wet Saturday morning. A bare bones 11 available made the task even tougher but the score line didn’t reflect just how close the game was.

Things were undone in the 1st half when we just didn’t get the rub of the green in attack whilst the oppo seemed just a bit more clinical. Ben H managed to keep up his scoring streak.

2nd half was much closer with Harry netting a rare header for our 2nd.

Lots learnt from that one, Player of the Match was our Goalie Ben G who made some great saves on a difficult day 🙌

Sunday Blacks Match Report

FJSC Blacks 7-5 Southport Trinity

Goals galore today as Blacks enjoyed a convincing victory in the end of an enjoyable game.
Goals from Reuben and Lucas match the 2 1st half goals from the oppo to go into half time 2-2.
A flurry of 2nd half goals came form Reubens brace, Will, Ben, Fabian and Eoin made it 7-2 with Trinity finishing strong to make it 7-5.

Actually needed to dig in at the end and today’s Player of the Match was skipper Oskar who left everything out there 💪

Saturday Blacks Match Report 📣

FJSC 1-2 Crosby Stuart

The lads found themselves in a really tough battle today and were unlucky not to come away with at least a point.

Ben Harris gave us the lead after some good work out on the flanks, adding to his growing tally this season. A quick equaliser was followed by a 2nd from the visitors and FJSC just couldn’t find that back of the net in response, despite a flurry of chances.

Tough one to take and only our 1st defeat of the season. We go again! 💪

Lathom Joinery and Construction Ltd Players of the Match was shared between Joe and Jen today, both battling tirelessly.

Big thanks to Seb for sacrificing a start up front and replacing goalie Ben G who picked up an injury in the warm up. 🙌

Weekly round up from the club 🤗

No games this weekend gone for Blacks or Whites. The great thing about being part of the FJSC family is that Interclub is available every Sat for additional training.

Both squads packed out Interclub and stayed on for an extra set piece session - great to see them putting the hard work in 💪

There were only a few Formby Junior Sports Club Representative team matches played last weekend due to half term. The highlights included FJSC Under 15’s win in a thrilling finish and FJSC Under 14’s well-earned draw. There were good results for FJSC Under 10 Blacks and FJSC Under 7’s, a very ...
