Wilberfoss Mavericks 2-2 OM

A fantastic start to our U14 season with a hard fought draw against one of our nemesis teams 💪🏻 A great game that OM could have nicked a win against! The football was end to end and fast flowing and played with great respect with both teams competing and creating chances. With some players having to adapt to not their normal positions we looked a strong team both going forward and defensively! We scored 2 excellent goals and could have easily had a brace in the second half which OM dominated with some excellent midfield and wing play.

Well done to Jacob, Nikita & Ethan on their OM debut 🙌🏻💙

⚽️ Poppleton Tigers U11 vs Old Malton Hawks U11 💙

A bright, sunny Sunday morning at Poppleton for the U11 Hawks! ☀️

The Hawks all turned up ready for what was a hard fought battle from start to finish. Every single player put in a huge shift and played their socks off, we genuinely couldn’t have asked for anything more! 👏

From fantastic goalkeeping, swift runs down the wings, solid midfield and defence, to some cracking strikes up top, the whole team gave everything.

A real connection was formed today, with players finding space and making themselves available for some fantastic passes. The teamwork and determination on show made for a genuinely nail biting performance! What a performance from the whole team. You should all be incredibly proud! ⚽️💙

Today’s Man of the Match went to Harley Preston! 👏
Harley ran his socks off up and down the wing, putting pressure on the opposition, making tackles and delivering some terrific corners. His confidence to shoot seemed to come from nowhere today, but it was absolutely brilliant to see him take that confidence into the match! ⚽️🔥
Well done, Harley, thoroughly deserved!

And the added touch of a hotdog or bacon butty at the end for the players went down an absolute treat with our team! 😃

⚽ Old Malton U7s vs Brooklyn Junior Football Club Tigers ⚽

What a fantastic first match for the Old Malton U7s! 🎉

The team put in a brilliant effort from start to finish, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination. For many of the players, it was their first taste of match day football, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.

There were plenty of smiles, some great football and lots of fantastic individual efforts. Most importantly, the team enjoyed themselves, supported each other and gave it their all against a strong Brooklyn Tigers side.

A huge well done to every player — a brilliant first match and a great success for Old Malton U7s! 👏⚽

🐎🐎OM MUSTANGS U12 GIRLS🐎🐎

Our girls finally got their season under way against a strong, difficult and resilient opposition at Huntington Rovers yesterday.

The Mustangs started in subliminal form with attack from the off. Our new player Rachel added an extra quality to the attack and Bella soon found the back of the net! ⚽️

Huntington however made life very difficult and once they settled into the game, they controlled the midfield and barraged attack, after attack, after attack. Our defence of Eva, Connie, Hanna and Edith remained strong but couldn't quite hold off Huntington- 3-1 at half time.

With a few changes at half time, the Mustangs started the second half with fresh legs and determination. Excellent running from Rachel, Olivia and Isobel saw Rachel find the back of the net scoring her first goal for the Mustangs on her debut. Not long after, Eva made a fantastic run to score our 3rd. With 10 minutes to go 3-3 - all to play for.

In true Huntington style, they powered up and became stronger than ever, finding the extra 10% needed to finish off the match. Final score Huntington 5 - OM 3

The girls gave such a solid performance for the first match of the season, our 2 new players Edith and Rachel had a massive impact on the game and the OGs have loved having them in the team.

A huge thanks to Huntington Rovers for scrambling the fixture together at short notice and for hosting. 😊

Onwards and upwards to Hessie next week!

🌟Brooklyn Tournament u13s champions🌟

What a way to start the season!!

The group stage saw us pitted against quality teams but we remained unbeaten, topping the group with a full 12 points from 4 games and a goal difference of +6! 💙

We met Easingwold in the semi-final who had been solid throughout the tournament but we came away with a 3-0 win. 😊

Next up we met Yorkshire Coast in the final. We struggled to break them down but defensively stood strong with some great performances. 💪 And so it went to penalties 😬🫣. Three well-taken penalties from Charlie Cooper and Zion and an outstanding save from Oscar secured us the silverware we deserved.

Some great performances throughout the team no man of the match as everyone deserved it. A massive thank you to Charlie Cooper who scored a lot of goals and was always a threat and Cass who worked endlessly and really helped us out.

What a performance from the U10 girls today! ⚽️🫶🏻

The conditions weren’t ideal, but the girls really put a shift in. They all worked so hard, battled through the conditions and gave it everything. What a great first match back! 💪

A big thank you to Poppleton for hosting the game after a reverse fixture was needed. We really appreciate your great hospitality.

We also welcomed 2 new faces to the team today, and honestly, it’s like they’ve always been around. A lovely addition to the squad and such a positive start to the season.

Today’s Player of the Match went to a girl who has come back determined, stronger and ready to give it her all.

Fliss showed real resilience, putting herself forward to play in goal, fighting hard throughout the game and never giving up. What a fantastic attitude and a well-deserved award! 👏🏻

The Hawks started their u16s season this weekend, with a home fixture against a quick and well organised Fulford side. Despite the weather threatening to dampen spirits, the team held on through a difficult first half and were probably lucky to go in at half time with the score still 0-0.

The Blues continued to grow into the second half, showing grit and determination and most importantly teamwork to match Fulford all over the park. They had a couple of chances to score, and had to rely on great saves and last-ditch tackles to keep the score even until the closing stages.

A late free kick saw Cameron curl a peach of a shot into the net to send the home team cheering! Great finish and a well deserved goal for the team.

Final result 1-0 to Old Malton Hawks!
Excellent start from the lads, a performance to be proud of!

U11 Hawks (Blues) – Brooklyn Tournament 💙⚽️

What a cracking afternoon of football for the U11 Hawks!

After a dicey start to the tournament, the afternoon wasn’t looking particularly promising. However, the boys kept their heads up, regrouped and went on to play some cracking football.

Every single player had their time to shine today. It was fantastic to have the full squad available and see everyone get plenty of game time. We saw some lovely set pieces, strong and determined play, excellent corners, cracking penalties, great saves, the list goes on! But without a doubt, the biggest highlight was the huge team spirit shown by the boys. 💙

Making the semi-final was such a high for them, and the performance they put in to secure their place in the final will be one that won’t be forgotten for a long time. They played with so much fire in their bellies, determination and belief it was genuinely heartwarming to watch.

Sadly, the shield was just out of reach today, but that shouldn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. The U11 Hawks represented their club with immense pride, and we couldn’t be any prouder of the effort, attitude and commitment shown by every single player.

Well done, boys! What a team! 💙⚽️👏
