As soon as we started cooking this one we had a feeling it was going to be good. Great colour, great aroma and sure enough the judges liked it to get into the top four retastes. Sadly we didn't quite make the top three but if we were going to be beaten into fourth by any team we were happy that it was our friends at gareth.blythin well done guys 🥰

Time for some photos of our turn ins at the Great Dorset Chilli Festival let's start with Saturday and curry.

We needed to turn in a curry and a side. For our curry we went for a chicken chettinad, we had some issues getting the pan hot enough so it didn't cook properly and was too thin, 10th was probably deserved.
However, our side dish came out perfectly. These are meant to be Indian styled side dishes, so naturally we cooked a pasty. Well when I say pasty, we made it with naan bread dough. As for the filling... Saag Aloo. Obvious when you think about it, as for the dip it was just a slightly spiced yoghurt with some spinach oil.

That's another year done and certainly dusty, I mean dusted. What a fantastic weekend as always, Great Dorset Chilli Festival hopefully you'll have us all back next year. UK CHILLI COOKOFF Jon Doody thanks for all the hard work putting on the event, those ciders don't drink themselves. Thanks to all the public to coming and chatting to us and enjoy the kid assisted decorations 🤣

In a massively expanded field, 20 teams this year we placed a respectable 10 in curry and 4th in chilli. I'll post some photos but only once I've made a dent in the washing up 🤦‍♂️

Whole chuck tacos. Kept simple, smoked until it fell apart, added some chilli sauce, nothing too fiery and then served with either a salsa Verde or a salsa de pasilla.

Quick trip to the pig in the south downs for lunch the other day.

The weather was amazing, the view was great but the lamb special was something else. That was certainly some of the best lamb I've had.
