Mikehollidgept Online coach & PT offering Personal training services for Farnborough, Fleet, Yateley, Camberley, and all surrounding areas.

Having had a passion for sport and fitness from a young age, I enrolled in and completed the Level 2 Gym Instructor course through Origym and Level 3 Personal Trainer course. I loved these courses and found them extremely informative, this has further confirmed my desire to pursue a career in the fitness industry. I fully understand the importance of health and fitness for individuals not just for

their physical well-being but also their mental well-being having suffered from mental health challenges myself in the past. Exercise has always been the one thing that breaks the negative cycle for me and brings a true sense of well-being. I am so passionate about this and really want to have the opportunity to help others feel better through fitness and exercise, physically and mentally.

Another great Trailwalker training hike this weekend, over the South Downs.

Just two weeks to go now until the big event, and yes, I'm only just getting round to asking for sponsorship, because apparently my fundraising strategy is as well-paced as my training.

Most fitness coaches make fat loss sound harder than it is because it keeps you dependent on them.

Not all of them. But a lot.

They create complex protocols and endless food rules and 6am fasted cardio sessions because if it seems complicated, you need an expert to navigate it. And if you need an expert, you stay.

Here is the reality.

Fat loss comes down to being in a calorie deficit consistently over time. That is it.

Everything else is detail around that one thing.

What I actually do with clients is figure out the simplest version of that deficit that fits their specific life. Some people need more structure. Some people just need to be a bit more aware of their portions. Most people need someone to tell them that a glass of wine on a Tuesday is not going to kill their results.

The coaches who are honest about how simple the fundamentals are, and who spend their energy making those fundamentals feel achievable rather than overwhelming, are the ones who get people real long-term results.

That is what I am trying to be.

Save this if you are tired of being sold complexity. And if you want to know what a simple approach could actually look like for your life, drop me a message.

Same mirror. 15 months apart.

4 stone down. Healthy BMI. And her words, not mine.

“A combination of mindful eating, more scratch cooking, dog walking, but underpinning it all a plan and getting back my self belief.”

That last bit is the one that gets me every time.

Not a transformation built on restriction. Not a diet with an end date. Just a structure that worked around her actual life until she started believing in herself again.

This is what I’m here for.

If you’re ready to start your version of this, my DMs are open.

Real talk for a Monday morning.

If you find yourself restarting your "healthy eating" every single week, the problem is not you. It is the approach you have been sold.

Most diet plans are designed for someone who has no social life, no stress, no kids, and no personality. The second real life turns up, the whole thing collapses.

One meal out does not ruin a week. One takeaway does not wreck your progress. The decision to write off the next four days because of it does.

The people I work with eat takeaways, they drink at weekends, they have birthday meals and work drinks and nights when dinner is whatever is easiest. And they still lose weight consistently.

Because the plan was built for their real life. Not an imaginary one.

If you want to chat about what that looks like for you, my DMs are always open. No sales pitch, just a proper conversation.

Eat the Easter egg.

Honestly… just eat it.

One day isn’t the reason people struggle with their weight. It’s what happens after.

It’s the “ah well, I’ve ruined it now” mindset that turns one Easter egg into a whole week of eating like a di****ad.

Enjoy it. Properly.

No guilt, no trying to “earn it”, no cutting carbs the next day to make up for it.

Then get straight back to what you were doing before.

That’s it.

That’s how you actually make progress long term.

Not by being perfect… but by not letting one day turn into a write off.

Eat the Easter egg, then crack on 👍

Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy.
They fail because they try to do too much, too fast.

Week one isn’t the time to train like an athlete, eat like a monk, and overhaul your entire life.
That approach feels motivating… until it doesn’t.

The goal in the first week is simple,
build a routine you can actually repeat.

A few solid workouts.
Better food choices, not perfection.
More movement, not punishment.

Because anyone can go all-out for 7 days.
Results come from the people who are still showing up weeks and months later.

Start steady. Build momentum. Add intensity later.

That’s how this sticks.

If you want help setting this up properly, DM me “START”. 💪

Right, starting your fitness journey on the 1st of January is actually one of the worst days you could pick.

Think about it. You’re probably hungover from New Year’s Eve, tired, dehydrated, and your decision-making is already trash. That’s not willpower, that’s survival mode.

There’s still Christmas food everywhere. Leftover chocolate, crisps, cheese boards, booze. You’re telling yourself ‘this is the last one’ about ten times a day.

You’re not even in a routine yet. Most people aren’t back at work until the 5th. Sleep’s all over the place. Days blur together. There’s no structure, and fitness thrives on structure.

So you start strong on Jan 1st… then by Jan 3rd you feel like you’ve already ‘failed’ and the whole thing gets binned off.

Here’s the smarter move.
Use the first few days of January to reset, hydrate, walk, eat normally again, and mentally get ready. Then start when real life starts. When alarms are set, work’s back, and routines exist.

Consistency beats motivation every time.
Don’t rush it. Start it properly… and actually stick to it.

🎄 Christmas food doesn’t ruin progress.
The guilt around it does.

This week isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about eating proper meals, enjoying the treats you actually want, and not punishing yourself for it.

One meal won’t cause fat gain.
One day won’t undo your hard work.
What matters is what you do after.

Enjoy Christmas. Drop the guilt. Get back to normal after 👊

Comment “CHRISTMAS” or “I’M IN” if you’re choosing balance this week
Save this post for when the guilt creeps in
