"Ordered last minute for a camping trip after umming and ahing about different boxes. Delivery was incredibly fast, after a plea to hopefully get it in time before we headed off. Have been completely happy with customer service, and the box has been amazing! Dinner still frozen at bottom of box on day 4 - despite the heatwave - hadn’t really believed it would be the case, especially as hadn’t had quite enough time to completely pre chill box. Completely recommend this company, in AI world, feels like real humans, real, good quality inventions, thanks guys!"

Spotted: A Custom Icey-Tek at Mary Queen of Scots' Old Digs

We built this one for Lilly, founder of Mary Mary — ready-to-drink Bloody Marys for people who take their hangover cures seriously. She sent us these photos from a recent trip, and we're not going to pretend we're not thrilled about the location.

"We ended up staying in a castle where Mary Queen of Scots once stayed, which was fitting!"

Fitting indeed. Somewhere between the stag statue, the cannon, and a portrait of an actual Mary staring down from the wall, our custom red box sat there doing its job — keeping a very fitting name close to some very fitting company.

And when it's not posing next to castle stonework, it's doing what it does best: 40-odd cans of Mary Mary, ice-cold, ready to go.

Lilly was kind enough to send some cans our way to say thanks — which, frankly, is the best kind of payment. If you haven't tried Mary Mary yet, do yourself a favour.

🏁 I built a Herbie

Happy Friday, everyone.

Running a small business isn't always glamorous — order processing, warehouse chaos, the odd courier crisis. So today I did something different: I gave myself an hour to build something purely for fun.

Confession time — I was obsessed with Herbie the Love Bug growing up. That cheeky little VW Beetle has lived rent-free in my head for decades... I think I've owned at least 5 classic Beetles throughout the years...So I decided to see what he'd look like as an Icey-Tek.

Say hello to our Herbie-inspired 25 Litre cool box — gloss white body, red and blue Le Mans stripe running dead centre, and the number 53 in an oval on the lid and front panel. It's silly, it's nostalgic, and it made me grin more than anything else I've done this week.

It's probably not going into production — but it's a nice reminder of something we don't say often enough: we can build custom cool boxes in pretty much any style you can dream up. One-off for your football club crest, your boat name, your family crest, or a full production run of hundreds for a drinks brand — we've done it all, from Carabao to Starbucks to Red Bull.

A few of our favourites from the last couple of weeks:

Richard used his in 35° heat with frozen bottles and one ice pack — food stayed cold for 3 days. Laura took hers to a festival with four ice packs and loose ice — still had ice left after three days, and said the pull handle felt robust and it seemed like it would last for years. Steve ran the same test with a bag of ice and two frozen packs — milk and food fine for 3 days, most of the ice still there. Trevor took his on a 7-day fishing trip and only needed to swap the freezer blocks halfway through. Mandy got 4 days of frozen ice while camping and was surprised how long it lasted.

Andrew's on his second Icey-Tek box now — a 25L and an 18L — and says he can't fault them for fishing.

Then there's Paul, who now owns three: "You can't get better than an Icey Tek cool box... in terms of value for money and quality they are impossible to top."

And one that made our week — a birthday gift order where the buyer said she didn't think any companies still offered such personal service, and called Icey-Tek an exceptional company, service and product — even better because it's based in Cornwall.

Big up Maxime & Archie — winners of the Icey-Tek cool box at this year's London International Club Pairs Competition.

We sponsored the Boat Diving Champions prize this year, because if you've just spent a day free-diving for the best of the catch (not the most), you deserve a cooler that can actually keep up.

The LIC Pairs is spearfishing done right — quality over quantity, sustainable, low-impact, and stacked with divers from all over the world who take the sport (and the ocean) seriously.

That's exactly the kind of thing we want our name next to. Adventure, conservation, life on the water — congrats again to the winners.
