Having trained with St Johnstone for some time now, ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ž has earned this opportunity through his hard work, dedication, and talent, and we couldnโ€™t be prouder of him ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ž has been part of the Helix Thistle family from the very beginning, and while weโ€™re absolutely delighted to see him take this next step in his football journey, thereโ€™s no denying heโ€™ll be a massive loss to the team!

His strength, resilience, composure on the ball, and fearless attitude set him apart. Add to that his technical ability and flair, and itโ€™s easy to see why he has caught the eye at the professional level. He has always led by example and given everything for the team ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค

Beyond his footballing ability, ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ž is a lovely wee lad who has been a huge part of our squad. His personality, stories, and banter have helped make our team what it is, and those are the things weโ€™ll miss just as much as his performances on the pitch!

They help carry kit and are the first to run on at full time as the goal-dismantling crew. Theyโ€™re always on hand to chase after a runaway little sibling, or the first to sprint after a rogue ball or two! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Theyโ€™re experts in shouting โ€œUnlucky!โ€ after every missed chance, convinced theyโ€™d have buried it themselves back in the dayโ€ฆ although half their knees might tell a different story these days! ๐Ÿคฃ

They bring the banter, half-time snacks and encouragement for the team each week, always full of stories and plenty of cheek! ๐Ÿ’š

From their last game at 7s yesterday, to pulling all-nighters to watch Scotland do the business in their World Cup opener this morning, to then knocking their socks off playing their first-ever games of 9s in the Wallace Cup Festival, itโ€™s fair to say our 2015s have earned a well-deserved rest tonight! ๐Ÿ˜ดโšฝ

Weโ€™d like to give a special mention to our #๐Ÿ“ ๐…๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ and our #๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐€๐ซ๐ฅ๐จ, who both represented their school teams today in the Connell Cup. Weโ€™re incredibly proud of both boys for their commitment and dedication, and weโ€™re sure they put in brilliant shifts for their teams! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

๐€๐ซ๐ฅ๐จ deserves an extra shoutout for starting his morning playing in the Wallace Cup with the team before heading straight off to join his school team for the Connell Cup in the afternoon! ๐Ÿ˜ฐโšฝ After a long day on the pitch (several pitches!!!), ๐€๐ซ๐ฅ๐จ and his school teammates finished as winners! ๐Ÿ†โšฝ

We welcomed Carbrain Boys Club to Braes High School yesterday for another highly competitive game of football and a great way to round off another excellent block of fixtures.

Carbrain started the game well and put the boys under pressure early on, opening up a lead in the first part of the match. Once the lads settled and found their rhythm, we began to see the football we know they are capable of, with some excellent passing moves, positive attacking play, and good chances created throughout!

To get ourselves back into the game and eventually take the lead was a fantastic effort from the boys. Credit to Carbrain, who continued to compete well throughout and ensured it remained an entertaining contest right until the final whistle. In the end, the points were shared after a very good game between two committed teams! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผโšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿซก ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง - Our captain today was our #๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ž, who did a stellar job, led by example with another strong defensive display, battling hard throughout, making some excellent tackles, and helping build play from the back! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿ† ๐๐Ž๐“๐Œ - Our POTM today was our #๐Ÿ“ ๐…๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ for another top display on the wing, constantly causing problems and bagging himself a brilliant hat-trick! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽฏ

๐Ÿ’ซ ๐‡๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ฑ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ - Awarded to the ๐„๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ! A proper team performance. Every player played their part, and the way the boys responded after a difficult start showed the character and togetherness within the group. They continued to work for one another and kept pushing throughout the game! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Another excellent match and a great way to finish this block of fixtures. Plenty of quality on show from both teams and lots for the boys to be proud of!

As if one game of football on Saturday and Scotlandโ€™s first World Cup match kicking off at 2am wasnโ€™t enough for one weekend, we rounded things off by taking part in the Wallace Cup Festival today. As always, it was a brilliant day out and a fantastic experience for the boys as they got their first taste of 9s festival football!
