I first noticed I was losing my hair in my late twenties, and if Iโm truthful, it bothered me far more than I wanted to admit.
I became self-conscious. I worried about how I looked. It felt like I was slowly losing something that had been part of how I saw myself since childhood.
The hardest part? I couldnโt control it.
But I often talk about ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป โ that getting the results youโve always wanted sometimes means being willing to let go of an older version of yourself.
So it was time to practice what I preach.
๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ๐ณ.
And rather than feeling like Iโd lost something, I gained something back: ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ณ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ฝ๐๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐น.
Iโm no longer worrying about how much hair Iโm losing or what it looks like. Iโve accepted something I ultimately had very little control over and made a choice about what I could control.
This is part of my own reinvention โ letting go of old anxieties and becoming more comfortable with who I am and who Iโm becoming.
And to any man experiencing male-pattern baldness: there is no right time to shave your head, and nobody else gets to make that decision for you.
The choice is yours.
But when your time comes, making that choice can be incredibly freeing. Instead of feeling like something is happening to you, you decide what happens next.
Itโs worked wonders for me.
Sometimes becoming the best version of yourself isnโt about adding something new.
