TARGET MATS! 🎯

2 x Target mats have been delivered to Gallow courtesy of Westcoast Bowls!

A fantastic tool for solo roll ups and coaching sessions.

These are property of the club and our club coach, Mark, has been given them exclusively for his use for coaching HOWEVER we would love all members to get use out of them.

They will be living in the coaching cupboard up the far end of the bowls hall so feel free to grab, use and enjoy!

OH, YOU’RE SERIOUS?! 🤣➡️😮

When the head is just staring at you BEGGING to be hit…

And your skip says “just draw”… a little part inside you dies 🤣

It’s obviously not good being loads down but if the head is looking inviting to hit… sometimes you just want to give it a slap ☄️💥

Have you ever stepped on the mart ready to play a certain shot and your skip has told you to play the complete opposite? 👀

I’M NOT PLAYING WITH THESE AGAIN! 🙄

When you’re fed up of losing and have decided… no, I’m too good to play with these guys, it’s their fault we’re losing, I QUIT! 👀🙈

We all know those players who think they’re too good for the team 😬

We also know those players who always throw their toys out of the pram when things aren’t going their way 😬

Some players want people to beg them to play 👀🤣

Maybe someone springs to mind with this scenario? 👀🤣

ALL ABOUT THOSE HAND SIGNALS! 👉🏼👆🏼👈🏼🙋🏼‍♂️🙅🏼‍♂️

When playing in the wind or in loud environments… sometimes it’s hard to hear what your teammate is telling you to do!

That’s why correct, accurate hand signals are crucial! ✅

It might look funny… kinda like a mime doing some kind of act 🤡 but as long as you understand… that’s all that matters 👀🤣

OH DEAR RODNEYYYY 🤣

When you’ve said to your skip “nothing silly” and they immediately turn the jack to your opponent’s Bowl after you held 3 shots… so you lose the end!

What a plonker 🙈

How often do you see this happen though… a ‘brave’ skip gives away the shot when the end is in safe hands.

Hope it hasn’t cost you the game 😬👀

Imagine if Bowls was one of THE sports in the future… with that same access to technology, to finances and to big crowds.

Imagine National finals being played in a huge sporting venue a game in a stadium like Wembley… 🏟️

Imagine having analysis of Bowls via ball tracking like they do in Golf… ⛳️

Imagine technology to completely take away measuring where technology can automatically tell how far away Bowls are… 📲

Imagine linking up technology to your Bowls to give YOU more detail on your performance… ⌚️

Every Bowler has their own personality… we all play the game differently and we all have our own approach.

But which type of player are you?

Do you like a bit of noise and energy on your rink with plenty of high 5s, shouting and encouragement…

Or

Do you prefer to play the quiet calmly, focusing hard on the game and keeping your emotions in, staying cool?

I’M FINE! 🤥

Losing any game is frustrating but some games it takes a while to get over…

So when you get home and your partner sees it written all over your face… the last thing you want to hear is… “Are you okay?”

You reply, “I’m Fine”

But really you just want to scream, shout and rewind time to go back and try and win that game 😂

Come on… we all let Bowls control our emotions a little too much sometimes 😬😂

You’ll be okay again in 3 days time! 😇
