So, the day has come. Unfortunately we won’t be racing at my local circuit Snetterton this weekend. Sorry to disappoint anybody that was coming along to watch.

I’ve put more time, more money and more effort into this season than I have any other, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

Due to the R56 class adopting a single map, the disparity between our car and the lead cars was too much and unfortunately it has not worked on our car. I tried, Norfolk Cars Ltd - Mini Specialist tried, lots of other people helped us out along the way which I’m truly grateful for, I can’t put into words the amount of work that has gone on behind the scenes, from everybody. Sadly, nothing we did could make it work.

Will it be the last time I put on my race helmet? I don’t know. I am grateful for the 2 championships I won and the many victories, and so glad we scraped a win in the Clubman this year as well. I’m also grateful for the support I’ve had from .mini , none of it would have happened without them.

In the words of Looney Tunes, which seems very apt for this crazy year, ‘That’s all folks!’ 🏁

Highlights from Race 2 at Thruxton. Super lucky with how this one played out, capitalised on Oli's spin and Freddy and Ian having some car issues. Couldn't see out of my right hand wing mirror after the initial contact with Oli, which made the first few corners difficult! Mega start though! Best launch from me all year!

Lap 1 from a wet race 1 at Thruxton. Terrible start 🙈 but was feeling confident at the end of this lap, until the boost issues started appearing soon after 🤷‍♂️ 3rd place was a result considering!

🏁🏆We finally got the Norfolk Cars Mini Clubman a win! That one felt good, although a lot of luck came our way.

This year has been the hardest I’ve worked at my racing, in terms of data and performance analysis, getting to grips with a new car, and also working hard on myself and my fitness – I started jogging and I haven’t been running in 20+ years ffs!

Norfolk Cars Ltd - Mini Specialist have thrown everything at it, given me everything I’ve asked for and we still can’t get the car to work as it should do, consistently, in terms of torque and boost. We’ve been to the dyno many times and had more cups of tea than I can count with - cheers guys! ☕️We’ve done tests after every dyno session and still come up with 2+2=5 🤔

Unfortunately, disappointingly, this is as far as we can go with the Clubbie. I knew it would be a tougher year with the car in terms of handling, I still had high hopes I could pull it off if we had equal engine performance though, but that’s not been the case. Too much is out of our control and I don’t race to make up the numbers.

So where do we go from here? Funds are running low and it’s far from an ideal scenario, but we’re working hard to be out in something for Pembrey in a week’s time! 🤞🙏

Clubby, Hearse, Boat, Mini Estate - call it what you want, but we've completed our first race weekend in the Norfolk Cars Ltd - Mini Specialist's Clubman! 🏁 We always knew it would be a challenge, but I somehow managed to make it worse after our first dry test in it! 🤦‍♂️ Coupled with boost issues it was the toughest weekend I've had in quite some time! We came away with 3 3rd places 🏆🏆🏆 but was pushing hard for 2nd in 2 of the weekend's races which is promising. It definitely has some quirks over a hatchback and is making me chase, but I really don't think we showed our hand this weekend and I know there's more to come. Thanks to for looking after us at the track, and in the workshop, .mini and Chris Middleton.

Less than a week to go! 😬 With 1 dry test in the car it's fair to say I've felt more confident, but I've got a good team around me and I can't wait to see what this new challenge brings! 🏁
