Saturday is our Beacon Wanderers Awards Night, and we’re holding a raffle to raise some extra funds for our little community group. 💙

A HUGE thank you to Topsham Swimming Pool for donating two family swims as a raffle prize! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️ It’s a fantastic prize and we really appreciate the support. 👏

Beacon Wanderers is about more than football. We’re a safe space, we raise money for charity, support our community and get involved in community initiatives whenever we can.

The new ‘season’ starts with our first friendly against Stroke City WFC Torbay hopefully a good morning, make some new friends and everyone has an enjoyable outing with a ball at their feet.

As a community, we’re devastated to hear about the fire. The conversation has quickly gone in the Beacon Wanderers group chats from potential transfer signings, what Alan’s done this week and how many stepovers are too many before Greg inevitably puts a ball into Row Z, to how we can actually help.

We’ve already seen members offering their time off their own backs and whatever they can to help, and as a group we’re looking at heading up and lending a hand with any clean-up needed, in place of our usual Friday night kick-about.

There really seems to be a huge community effort to give something back and help wherever we can. We’ll be looking for every opportunity to get involved and do our bit, and we’d encourage others to do the same.

When something like this happens, football can wait. Community comes first. ❤️
