What a fantastic start to classes we’ve had so far this year!

Despite me being very slack on social media 😅 the ‘Moving Mamas’ class has been going strong with lots of lovely ladies joining.

Time to change the name though, as we have mamas with little ones, mamas on their own as well as mamas whose children have ‘flown the nest’ regularly at class.

So from now on ‘Moving Together’ will take place on Fridays from 10-11 at the Evesham Rowing Club.

Exactly the same format, just making sure we’re being as inclusive as possible with branding 👍

This is what it means to be *Forever Active*

Working within your abilities but learning to use your body in ways you maybe thought had passed you by. Having confidence to try new movements and celebrating what your body can do instead of what it can’t.

These pictures show a snippet of our strength and balance classes - strengthening our pushing muscles through banded chest press and variable push up movements.

Exercise really is inclusive if you can find the right class or the right people.
Let’s work together to ensure we are strong and independent as we age.

Being a PT and fitness instructor isn’t just about telling clients what to do (😅)

It’s also vital that I ‘read’ my clients - understand how they’re feeling physically and mentally and adapt the session to meet them where they are.

Sometimes this means ignoring the plan and just doing the exercises I know will make my client happy - because some days that’s all that’s needed! 👌

I’m not a marketing whizz or up to date with the latest trends, which is why this is another National Fitness Day where I’ve nearly missed out on posting 😅

BUT …

➡️ I strongly believe that physical activity is for everybody and making classes and training accessible for all is so important.

➡️ I believe that ‘fitness’ can be measured in a variety of ways and should not be linked to a look or intensity - the movement you can perform within your body’s abilities is just as important as someone else’s.

➡️ I trained to become an instructor because movement really can be medicine - for the body and mind - and I understand from personal experience what difference it makes.

➡️ Because of this all of my classes and PT sessions are aimed at making everyone feel welcome. You will not be judged and if you’re not smiling during the session then I’ve not tried hard enough.

So there you go, that’s my go be active post, complete with a picture of me at the last local 10K… partly to make you laugh, and partly to show that I’m a real person (that you can laugh at 😆)

This made me so happy yesterday ❤️

This fantastic lady has been consistent with her training and nutrition for a year now, made my classes most weeks and always puts in the work.

This is what happens when you put in the time. No magic potions or pills. Just consistency and hard work.

Can’t wait to see what the next year does for her health and confidence 😍

Our first training session together this evening and it was totally unplanned ❤️

I am so uncomfortable in my body at the moment that going to the gym felt like too much… so I decided to get in the garage instead.

My eldest wanted to join me and at first I was annoyed at my ‘me time’ being interrupted.

It turned out that she wanted to do the same as mummy and we did a few mummy and daughter supersets together.
It wasn’t the most effective training session but it turned into a lovely bonding moment and I’m hoping it won’t be the last.

Remember sometimes you’ve just got to move. It doesn’t matter how - just get the heart pumping and the endorphins flowing 💪

Pleased to confirm that I have successfully passed my diploma in exercise referral through HFE 💪
