Last week, we took part in National Drowning Prevention Week. I hope everyone enjoyed it and came away with some important water safety messages.

Sadly, there have been a number of incidents in recent weeks involving people swimming in unsafe locations. While the water may look inviting on a hot day, it is essential that you only swim in designated areas where a lifeguard is present.

Throughout the week, the children learned about a range of important water safety topics, including the meaning of beach flags, how to float on their back and call for help, the challenges of swimming against a current, the effects of cold water shock, and the potential dangers found in different open-water environments.

We hope these lessons have helped to build the children's confidence and awareness, and that they will continue to make safe choices around water.
