😓It’s been a tough one. A few unexpected turns and some heavy moments.😢

🗻Today I climbed the Magho Steps as part of my FEARmanagh training. Tired legs, tired head… but I kept climbing.🪜

🌈And this is what was waiting at the top. 🌈

☔️Quite literally, a rainbow after the rain.🌈

❤️A little reminder that things don’t always go to plan. Sometimes all you can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other.❤️

🌨️Storms pass. Keep climbing. 🌈

AUGUST’S HIGHLIGHT ⬇️

This crew have been training since the beginning of February for FEARmanagh on 26th September — run, cycle, steps & kayak 🚴🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🛶

And you need to be STRONG for this one! 💪🏼

The hills around beautiful Lough Navar, Derrygonnelly and the surrounding Fermanagh countryside certainly test the hips & core that power the legs🌲⛰️

We’re incredibly proud as a community to host this endurance race every year, right here on our doorstep. Esp all our volunteer marshals and organisers🙌

As their coach, I’m so proud of the work this group have put in over the past 7 months — turning up, getting stronger, building endurance and supporting each other along the way❤️

I’m thankful to every single person who has trusted me with their training. 💚

Now we’re into the final few weeks…

Three of our committee members, Nadia, Maeve & Sara are also braving the step over the edge. 😁

Life lately has been very fulfilling ❤️

As I picked the photos for this post, I realised I naturally focused on the good.

Prioritising sleep and rest. Good times and plenty of laughs with friends. My work, which I take a huge amount of pride in. My family — including, of course, my pets 🐾❤️ — and getting to live amongst the beauty of Fermanagh.

I’m grateful for my FEARmanagh crew and watching all their hard work come together. For the minor footballers I get to coach. And for every single person who walks through the doors of my classes each week and continues to support what I do. 💪🏼

There will always be stresses, worries and things going on behind the scenes — but sometimes it’s good to look at the photos, focus on the good and realise just how much there is to be grateful for.

As we head into what’s shaping up to be a very busy September, I’m feeling grateful for all of it and everyone in it. ❤️

Here’s to working hard, resting when we need it, enjoying ourselves and appreciating the good while it’s happening. 🫶🏼

I never miss breakfast — and one of the main reasons is PROTEIN. 💪

Breakfast is an easy opportunity to get a decent serving of protein in early, making your daily protein target much easier to hit.

Protein also helps keep you fuller for longer, which can mean less mindless snacking and better appetite control throughout the day.

And if you’re training, protein matters for muscle repair, recovery and maintaining muscle — especially as we get older.

It doesn’t need to be complicated either.

🥚 Eggs
🥣 Greek yoghurt
🥛 Protein shake
🧀 Cottage cheese
🍗 Lean meats

Don’t overcomplicate nutrition. Look for opportunities to add protein — breakfast is an easy one.

Shout out to JD Cafe & Catering who do the best poached eggs in town.. and with 3 good eggs (the yellow is yellowing- a good sign!) and 2 pieces of granary bread with 20gms of butter (1 of those little fu***rs is 70cals and I LOVE butter so it’s dangerous) & a Milky coffee = approx 35gms of protein.
