Black Rock Outdoors

Black Rock Outdoors Black Rock Outdoors have been providing outdoor activities since 1990. We are based in Somerset but travel all over to run activities and residential trips.

We have a huge range activities including High Ropes, Kayaking, Caving, Climbing, Archery and even Slacklining. All instructors are well experienced and qualified for the activities they provide and everyone has a valid first aid certificate.

We did a family raft build session yesterday. Three families built two rafts. Kids v adults. The adults didn’t have any advice. The kids designed their own raft and had supervision with the knots. It was a solid raft and they all very much enjoyed the success and the stability of their raft. The adult raft wasn’t as successful but it did stay together at least!

Year 5 and 6 came to do High Ropes, Mountain Boarding and Raft Build. Some of year 6's built this very unusual raft and called it the Killer Express! - "either kill or be killed". They were very fond of the ramming bar idea. Surprisingly it stayed together (they may have had some help with knots) and it easily beat the three other rafts and they didn't even need to ram anyone!

St Laurence and Black Rock have been working with other for around 30 years. Here I am on top of the high all aboard with 2 P.E teachers and an English teacher. It was like seeing old friends again after missing a few years because of Covid!
