As we conclude this year's impact findings for National Fitness day 2026, the message is clear: Enfield's leisure centres are doing more than helping people get active. They're bringing communities together, improving wellbeing, and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.
🤝 Regular leisure centre users report significantly higher levels of social trust and community connection than non users.
🌍 Our facilities continue to reflect the diversity of modern Enfield, with participation from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority communities exceeding local population averages and women accounting for over half of all users.
🏊♀️🏋️♂️🧘♀️ From swimming and gym sessions to group exercise classes and yoga, residents are accessing activities that support physical health, mental wellbeing, weight management and long-term condition prevention.
Together, these findings demonstrate the vital role Enfield's leisure centres play in reducing health inequalities, strengthening community connections and helping residents lead healthier, happier and more active lives.
Here's to building an even stronger, healthier and more connected Enfield!
