As part of the ongoing preparation for the World Sambo Championships, a team from England representing the club Sambist Fighting Academy, under the leadership of Oleg travelled to Germany, to the historic city of Lüneburg.
In this ancient and picturesque city, the 23rd International Sport Sambo Tournament was held, featuring athletes across various age groups and weight categories. The competition brought together Sambo practitioners from more than 30 teams representing over 10 countries worldwide. Among the participants were also experienced athletes with prior appearances at European and World Championships.
Following a series of intense and hard-fought contests, our athletes succeeded in securing several medals.

In addition, our club was honoured with a special cup recognising its contribution to the development of international sporting and cultural relations.

This weekend, the international sambo tournament Lüneburg Cup will take place in Germany, and our Sambist Fighting Academy, will be proudly represented.

Today, he became the Sambo Champion at the Grand Prix in France 🇫🇷. Another gold medal 🥇 goes into Great Britain's collection 🇬🇧 from this prestigious international tournament 🏆.

Our sambo team is not only about training sessions and tournaments. We support each other in everyday life, spend time together outside the gym, and create the atmosphere of a true sports family.

For the throw Sode Tsuri Komi Goshi, your opponent suddenly breaks free from the sleeve grip that you intended to use for the throw. Without waiting for further resistance or a counterattack, and without stopping your movement, you immediately transition into Obi Tori O Soto Gari.

As requested, we reviewed several key situations and possible options for what to do when your opponent controls you by gripping both sleeves. Of course, the first thing to try is breaking the grip, but if that doesn’t work, you should establish your own sleeve grips and attack immediately without hesitation.
