Moray Hockey Club officially turned ONE YEAR OLD this month! Can you believe it?

At the very beginning, behind the scenes, there was weeks of planning, meetings and conversations to build something new, to continue a legacy and to keep hockey in Moray.

With the dedication from those on the committee, we were able to officially launch Moray Hockey Club in June 2025.

We had a wonderful turnout for the first session, we could only have hoped for such numbers to return to the pitch, and since then so much has happened.

Our first indoor sessions and taking part in the development league. We even even came away with wins! Isn’t that fantastic?

We were also fortunate to be invited to friendly matches at Gordonstoun, which we got to play as a mens team and ladies team for the first time!

Then the infamous Blairgowrie tournament! What a fantastic day of hockey! “Play on!”

Our junior team have had great success over the year with many tournaments and matches, the young ones putting us seniors to shame with all their wins! What a cracking bunch!

Even though we are a new club, we’ve been making some great connections with a number of clubs in Scotland, in particular! Though we may have good laughs with the team, we also get to learn a great deal from a seasoned club and we couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity and relationship growing between the clubs.

It hasn’t just been stick and balls on the pitch, but we’ve also been busy on the social side! We had our first Christmas party which was a hoot! A quiz night to raise funds for the club and our absolutely incredible end of season awards night.

We also must take a moment to thank our sponsors, who have so graciously given their time and money which has allowed us to purchase our beautiful kit and trophy’s! and BNorthSuppliesLtd

A big thank you to you all, who show up when you can, to spectate in person or support from afar.

And finally, to the committee, as there would not be a club without your hard work and dedication.

Yesterday we sent a small detachment from MHC down to join ‘s tournament in aid of in Linwood. We are grateful for the invite to play some fun hockey and support a great cause. Some big challenges on pitch against players and teams operating at a very high level but all going towards development for our players! See you again for the next one! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🏑

Wow, what a night that saw club members, family & friends all come together for an evening of celebration and reflection on the past year 🙌🏻 Everyone looked amazing dressed for the occasion and the night was filled with speeches, awards, music and dancing 💃🏻 Congratulations to all our award winners this season, and let’s look forward to the season ahead! 🫶🏻

✨JUNIORS✨The final U12 ND Tournament saw us take a strong squad of 9 players to Cults Academy. We played 5 games winning 3 and narrowly losing the other 2.
Some great hockey played with eveyone working really hard for the team. The team played in their new strips, which look awesome, sponsored by , drawing lots of positive comments from other teams. 🤩😎 Overall another great day of hockey and a massive well done to our talented players.

On Saturday the 23rd of May, we had our first at home game inwhich we delightfully hosted! Our guests and opponents being the iconic who decidedly handed our arses to us, so to speak.

We did get one goal in the bag by our very own James McRitchie! Saving us from total annihilation! What was the score again? 😂

We would like to give Kelburne a big congratulations on your win and for travelling far up north to see us! We had the best time!

We’d also like to thank Lou and Iain for umpiring and all those to who came to play on both sides of the pitch!

And finally, the biggest thank you to our very own Hannah and Kelburne’s Ryan for organising this wonderful day and bringing our two teams together. We may be hundreds of miles apart, but the sport keeps us all together.

💥 Last Saturday we had the fantastic opportunity alongside to host youngsters ranging from P1 to P7 from all across Moray to show them how fun hockey can be! 💥 🤩

Some sunshine and a lot of enthusiasm followed, with the kids participating in different drills and challenges covering everything from passing, dribbling and shooting. A fantastic turnout and a HUGE thank you to all those who volunteered their Saturday to help out. 🫶🏻😁 We hope to see some of these new faces back soon!
