Today was a day full of positives for us as we faced YEL Sunday Div 2 Sherwood Colliery Blue.
With us nearly at full strength with only 3 players away, it was a great opportunity to see where we was at, a 4-1 defeat and a score line that flattered in many peoples opinions, unfortunately goals matter and we lacked those today, plenty of shots but struggling to convert, we need to work on following rebounds in both boxes and start reacting and start anticipating those moments.
With that said Sherwood we're great hosts and played some lovely stuff.
It was an end to end game with plenty of quality from both sides, mistakes happen and cost you goals, the pleasing thing was we learned from them almost instantly and grew more and more with every passing minute.
Things are starting to shape up nicely and we said to the best the performance was the best we've played for a while outside tournament football and to not worry about the score line as in pre season friendlies you get no prizes.
The player of the match awards were difficult today!!
Managers Player - Jaiden, Slotting into the role well, bravery, handling, kicking and shot stopping, all some of the best I've seen at this age group 👏
Coaches Player - Rupert, only his 2nd back from his holidays and he's continued where he left off, showing great fight, fantastic energy and looking more comfortable with the ball each game, a real unselfish player always looking for that cross or pass into supporting players 👌
Oppositions Player - Rest of the team, everybody put a shift in today, battling hard and getting on with it, not sulking about decisions, showing great attitude and fighting for each other as a team, playing some lovely stuff at times, proper team performance today 🙌
